Proud to co-host the second Affordable Senior Housing Developer Summit with LeadingAge PA in Lancaster last week. Across the Presbyterian Senior Living network of communities, we serve nearly 1,200 residents through more than 1,100 affordable apartment and cottage-style homes in Pennsylvania. There is more work to do, and we are committed to being part of the solution.

This week, LeadingAge PA partnered with Presbyterian Senior Living to host our second Affordable Senior Housing Developer Summit, this time in Lancaster. The Summit brought together developers, affordable housing providers, and community leaders to envision solutions to the challenges and barriers in creating affordable senior housing in the Central PA region.

Thanks to a generous grant from the John L. & C. Jeanette Witmer Charitable Trust, Green Ridge Village is adding two new Inclusion Tables® to the community.

These adaptive, fully adjustable tables will make it easier for residents of all mobility levels to gather, dine and participate in activities together. These tables help promote connection, reduce isolation and ensure everyone has a place at the table.

Presbyterian Senior Living recently gathered its Administrative Office team to celebrate years of service milestones, from one year to 25, honoring the people who represent both our history and our future.

President & CEO Dan Davis set the tone for the afternoon. With PSL approaching its 100th year, Dan reflected on what has always been at the heart of our organization’s success: the spirit of compassion and the diligent, committed work of teams like the one gathered in that room. He noted that the collective strength of PSL has never been built by any one person or initiative. It has been built year after year, by people who show up with purpose.

Dan also spoke to the significance of those recognized for one year of service. As PSL looks toward its centennial and beyond, the colleagues joining our Administrative Office team represent something vital: the future. Their fresh perspectives and commitment to innovation are helping shape new pathways to fulfill our mission in the years ahead.

From one year to 25 years, every milestone in that room told part of the same story: a community of people choosing, again and again, to do meaningful work together.

✨ A Beautiful Tradition of New Life

At Presbyterian Village, we love celebrating the talents, stories, and traditions that our residents so generously share.

Recently, resident Vera K. offered a special demonstration of Ukrainian Pysanky—an art she has been practicing for more than 80 years. The intricate beauty of a Ukrainian Pysanka is recognized worldwide as a meaningful contribution to global culture.

Pysanky are among the oldest symbols of new life, rebirth, and love, handed down from antiquity. Created using a traditional wax resist method, these eggs are never meant to be eaten. Instead, they are given as gifts, treasured as keepsakes, or exchanged with the joyful Easter greeting: “Christ is risen.”

Vera has lovingly passed this remarkable art form to her daughter and granddaughter, keeping the tradition alive for future generations. For this demonstration, she used goose eggs, which are larger than chicken eggs and allow even more space for the intricate designs.

Each finished piece is a stunning reminder of new life during the Easter season—and a testament to the creativity, heritage, and wisdom within our community.

🌸 Celebrating International Women’s Day at PPresbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg!

On March 11, the women residents of Independent Living gathered for a special tea at the Inglenook apartments in honor of International Women’s Day.
We were grateful to welcome The Honorable Retired Judge of the Blair County Court of Common Pleas, Jolene Kopriva, who shared an engaging presentation on the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Judiciary.

While enjoying the program, residents were treated to delicious tea sandwiches and hot tea—thoughtfully served by Lloyd Forshey.

A heartfelt thank you to Dorothy Fleming and Tracey Little for arranging this memorable celebration and providing beautiful teapots and cups that made the event truly special. 💐✨
