MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT INJURIES & PIP INSURANCE
By Michigan state law every driver of a motor vehicle, registered in Michigan, has PIP (Personal Injury Protection) as part of their auto insurance policy. If you are injured in an auto accident normally your health insurance (i.e. will not pay for our services. This is because these companies will not register massage therapists as service providers for their members. The good news is that your auto insurance will pay for services that your health insurance does not cover; regardless of who caused the accident. Not only does your car insurance pay for your car to be restored to its original condition, it also covers the costs associated with seeking health care in my practice. Many people minimize the effects they’ve suffered because their car shows little or no damage. Research shows that in low-impact collisions, since the car sustains a relatively modest damage, energy instead is transferred to the occupants! Collisions occurring at speeds as low as five miles an hour can lead to significant cervical or neck injury. Even if an accident causes no broken bones, a victim may suffer "soft-tissue" injuries that last for months, or sometimes years. Because you and I are so adaptive, it can take weeks, months and sometimes years for undetected damage to show up as chronic headaches, backaches, stiff neck or even low back pain. Even if you are not suffering these problems now, keep us in mind later, if they appear. It does not matter how long ago you incurred your injury. If you are still being treated by a physician for an auto collision related condition you are eligible for treatment by us with no cost to you.If you have not considered massage therapy due to past experience you may want to give MASSAGE TO YOU, a try. Many of our patients tell me my approach differs from other massages they have had. I take the time to evaluate and answer your questions, explain what I find and offer choices. WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INJURIES & INSURANCE COVERAGE
Similar to your PIP insurance if injured and eligible for workers’ compensation benefits you enjoy the freedom to choose a provider for any physician ordered form of treatment. PATIENT MASSAGES
Patient massages are performed with the specific intent of improving conditions that have been diagnosed and prescribed by their physician. All patients will be treated using either massage therapy, manual therapy techniques or a combination of two directed by a physician. Once your doctor determines that touch therapy is medically necessary, a prescription is written detailing the diagnosis, the areas to be treated and the frequency and duration of the treatment.
