WALK FOR WEIGHT-LOSS

Most medical professionals concur that a number of avoidable illnesses, including heart disease and obesity, may be brought on by inactivity.
Walking on a regular basis has several potential health benefits, including weight loss. For instance, a study published in the Journal of Exercise Nutrition and Biochemistry shown the benefits of walking for obese females in terms of fat loss and waist circumference reduction.

How to burn more calories while walking?

· Walk briskly - Walking at a quick speed burns more calories than walking more slowly.
· Walk uphill regularly.
· Practice power walking in intervals
· Do three shorter walks a day - Blood sugar levels can be better controlled by walking for 15 minutes three times per day after meals than by walking for 45 minutes once per day.
· More steps each day - Any additional steps a person takes on a daily basis can help in weight loss.

How to walk more?

· Take the stairs instead of the elevator
· Park further away from the door at stores, at work, or at school
· If possible, walk to lunch, work, school, ect...
· Take walking breaks at work instead of sitting in a break room.
