🌿 Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day🌿
Today, we honor the original stewards of our island, the Arawak and Carib peoples, the first to call Iyanola (St. Lucia) home. Their spirit lives on in the rhythms of the land and sea that continue to sustain us.
The Arawak and Carib lived in deep harmony with the ocean, guided by respect for the tides, reefs, and coastal forests. They crafted canoes from native trees, fished with intention, gathered sea plants, and cultivated the land in balance taking only what was needed and giving thanks for every harvest. 🌾🌊
Their way of life teaches us that coastal living is more than survival its connection, care, and gratitude.
As we continue our journey with St. Lucian sea moss, we carry forward their wisdom of living in right relationship with nature.
May we always preserve their history, their practices, and their reverence for the sea so future generations can thrive in the same balance they once kept.
