The Mission
The Cascade Rural Fire Protection District provides the public and neighboring agencies with prompt, expert fire and emergency medical service.
We are asking for your support during the May 16th, 2023 Levy vote to provide additional funding to increase staffing.
Due to limited staffing and a decline in volunteer availability, CRFPD has been struggling to safely respond to emergencies.

The Cascade Rural Fire Protection District (CRFPD) is a special taxing district of the State of Idaho providing fire suppression for an area of 110 square miles and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for 1308 square miles. The district has never asked for a levy increase since it was formed in 1984. Because of the huge coverage area and hours required for a call, it is sometimes impossible to provide coverage for additional calls at the same time.
This levy will add 2 additional personnel to each shift. This will allow us to better serve our community with structure, wildland, and vehicle fire suppression, swift water rescue, cold water and snowmobile rescue, vehicle extrication, Fire Code enforcement, fire prevention education, Advanced Life Support EMS care, and backcountry rescue.

Since CRFPD’s inception they have relied on volunteers for fire suppression and EMS services. Due to increased calls at our fire station and a decline in availability from volunteers in today’s era, they’ve found it necessary in 2018 to ask for tax monies that we had declined to receive in past years. These “Foregone” taxes allowed us to increase to two full-time staff members that are ready to respond to emergencies 24/7. With increasing calls and even fewer volunteers we now find ourselves in need of additional shift personnel which will increase our budget significantly.
We hope you will consider voting YES.
