How To Make a Refreshing Batch of Cold Brew Tea: AKA the easy, lazy, and delicious way to brew your tea.
1. Buy loose leaf tea, preferably from your favorite local tea shop Soul Tea Co.
2. Get a nice jar, or buy yourself an iced tea container like I have here.
3. Get a diffuser or some tea bags.
4. Dump a bunch of loose leaf tea into diffuser. You can violently throw the tea in the diffuser, or just a gentle spooning. Make this process your own.
5. Use room temperature filtered water or tap water. I used my sink water and I’ll live another day. Fill up your jar/container. Put in fridge.
6. Do nothing for 12-24 hours. I recommend reading a book, staring out the window, or buying more tea.
7. Take out your diffuser. Drink cold brewed iced tea all day every day!!!! 🫖☀️soulteaco.com

At events I tend to get a lot of questions about ghost pipe, pictured below. 👻 This ghost pipe was harvested from my own woods. Ghost pipe (also known as Indianpipe) is a part of the Monotropaceae family. It is most commonly found in shady wooded areas and is native to PA! It is a perennial plant and if you leave its roots and only cut a couple of pieces per plant, it will come back each year.

Ghost pipe is parasitic in nature. Its completely white because it has no chlorophyll from the sun. It doesn’t get its nutrients from the sun! It takes nutrients and carbohydrates from tree roots through an intermediate source, myccorhizal fungi in the genera Russula and Lactarius. This is what makes ghost pipe have special herbal properties!!

What is ghost pipe used for? A tincture of ghost pipe, made by soaking the plant in a high alcohol concentration for at least a month, has been suggested to be a replacement for opiates. Ghost pipe tincture is used to treat physical and emotional pain. It can help people who have panic attacks, and acts as a natural sedative. Basically, ghost pipe is really freaking cool.
