Aloha and Hafa Adai. 🙂 My name is Soonja, and I was born and raised on the island of Guam. I attended undergraduate school at Old Dominion University in Virginia and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing with specialization in psychiatry from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Experienced in neonatal / postpartum care, pediatrics, acute inpatient psychiatry / severe mental illness, PTSD / trauma, s*x trafficking, domestic abuse, blended families, diverse cultural / ethnic groups, addiction / recovery, s*x industry workers, LGBTQIA communities, and treating active duty, veterans, first responders and their families. I provide a humanistic, interpersonal, culture-sensitive, individualized client-centered approach to care.
Worked as an aviation search and rescue swimmer. Performed search and rescue operations in Haiti as part of a helicopter crew in response to the 2010 earthquake that left 200,000 people dead, missing, and injured: https://www.dvidshub.net/image/241348/haiti-earthquake-humanitarian-response

Ironman 140.6-mile finisher; completed marathon on Mount Everest in 2017; swam for Team Guam in the South Pacific Games in Papeete Tahiti, Invitational swim meet in Darwin, Australia, and annual invitational swim meets at Kamehameha Schools on Oahu.
My hobbies include water sports, traveling, live music, spending time with my energetic Bernedoodle, and practicing Brazilian jiu jitsu.
