What a magnificent sight! Members of our Queen's 'ohana were part of a colorful procession of Hawaiian culture during the recent Aloha Festivals Floral Parade. 🌺
The Queen’s Pa'u Unit was made up of physicians and other health care professionals who rode in honor of our hospital's foundress, Queen Emma. Supporting the unit were many helping hands who gathered materials for the lei worn by the horses and their riders, sewed the beautiful outfits, and helped the riders dress on parade day. Countless hours were spent practicing the proper riding formation. 🐎
The unit said: "We honor the health care workers whose dedication and hard work have gotten us through this pandemic. We also honor Queen Emma who, because of her foresight in making a commitment to the health of Hawai‘i’s people, allows us as caregivers to malama the population."
