Here at LAD sometimes it can feel discouraging seeing other organizations in Ky receive more visibility and support. Support doesn’t always go where it’s needed most but that won’t stop the work we do for teen mental health.
There are so many amazing organizations doing great work and we’re proud to be one of them. Our mission is deeply personal, and we remain committed to showing up every day to serve, uplift, and create real change for our black and brown girls.
Building and sustaining a nonprofit isn’t easy, especially when resources and attention are limited. Resources, collaborations and conversations should be a given instead of nonprofits having to ask for it. The works speaks for itself. This school year we have had transportation barriers more than ever with our girls. But what keeps us grounded is remembering the lives we impact because every single one of our girls matter and every youth matters.
