Men have over 25 options for sexual health.
Women have… two.

Let that sink in.

And it’s not because the science isn’t there.
It’s because women’s health has never been given the same urgency, attention, or respect.

That should make you uncomfortable.

Because I see the impact of this every single day—
women dismissed, under-treated, and told to “just live with it.”

We’re done with that narrative.

Join us for a powerful documentary and conversation that pulls back the curtain on what women haven’t been told—and what needs to change.

Tips on Tuesday (In honor of the most aggressive spring cleaning your colon will ever have), Cologuard vs. Colonoscopy:

They are NOT the same thing.

💩 Cologuard (the “mail it in” test):
• Checks for blood + abnormal DNA in stool
• Done at home, non-invasive

But here’s the catch 👇
Blood isn’t consistently shed from small polyps.
Most polyps don’t bleed until they’re larger or more advanced—and even then, bleeding can be intermittent.

So… a negative test doesn’t always mean “nothing is there.”

🔍 Colonoscopy (the gold standard):
• Actually sees the inside of the colon
• Finds small polyps before they become a problem
• Removes them on the spot

The difference:
Cologuard may pick up a problem after it starts changing
Colonoscopy can stop the problem before it starts

Bottom line:
If you’re relying on blood to show up… you may be late to the party.

Now excuse me while I continue my personal relationship with bathroom.

5 hours in.

A few thoughts:

How long is the colon, exactly? Because this feels… ambitious. I’m starting to think it’s less of an organ and more of a garden hose situation. Possibly two, connected.

Dinner options:
Clear Gatorade — unfortunately now associated with the prep, so that’s out.
Jello — same flavor profile, different texture. Somehow worse.
Beef or chicken broth — visually not an option after recent events.

So… water.
I did not see myself ever choosing water for dinner, but here we are.

Toilet paper:
I’ve underestimated the value of quality for years. That was a mistake.
Yes, it’s priced like a small utility bill.
But also… I could’ve probably skipped gas this month.

Speaking of utilities — I’m interested to see what my water bill will look like. Also, at what point do they send out a wellness check when usage spikes like this?

And finally… what fresh level of chaos is about to be unlocked when I drink this second bottle?

(It’s cold this time, in case you were wondering.)

WE'RE ALL FRIENDS HERE, RIGHT?

I’m currently two hours into prepping for my first colonoscopy, and I feel like I deserve some kind of medal already.

I got a late start because I was with a patient, prolonging the inevitable. So instead of doing the responsible thing—mixing the prep in warm water and letting it chill for an hour in the fridge like the directions said—I got to drink it… warm. Nothing like a nice glass of regret at body temperature.

Fast forward to me fully moved into the bathroom. Not visiting—living. At some point, my legs completely fall asleep. Not a little tingle… full-on “these are no longer my legs.” But can I stand up and shake it out? Absolutely not. For obvious reasons. So now I’m just… stuck. Sitting there like a hostage to my own body.

Then—silence. Peace. I think, “Okay, I’m done.” Rookie mistake.

I stand up, grab enough soap to wash my hands, my husband's hands, my neighbors' hands (you get the picture)… and then it happens.

The gurgle.

Not a warning. Not a suggestion. A full-body, drop-everything, sprint-back-to-the-toilet situation.

Except… I’m holding copious amounts of soap.... in my DOMINANT hand.

So now I’m faced with a decision no one prepares you for:

Wipe with my non-dominant hand
OR
Somehow transfer a concerning amount of soap onto toilet paper and proceed like nothing’s wrong

I chose the non-dominant hand.

And let me just say… it went about as well as trying to sign your name with your foot.

Anyway. I’m only two hours in.

Stay tuned.

You’re not going to grow a beard from hormone therapy.

Let’s be clear.
The research shows no difference in hair growth compared to placebo.

What is true?
Midlife hormonal shifts can cause chin hair—with or without treatment.

So let’s stop letting fear make the decisions.

28 years. One career… and a thousand lessons I never learned in a textbook.

I’m so grateful for my journey over the last 20 years at Baptist. What I’ve learned most is this—patients teach us everything. They’ve trusted me in some of their hardest, most vulnerable moments… and those moments shaped the way I care for people today.

From holding space when there were no words… to staying calm when everything wasn’t… to simply sitting beside you when that was enough—those are the lessons I carry with me.

As I close this chapter, I’m incredibly grateful. And I’m looking forward to bringing everything I’ve learned over the last 28 years into Eden—continuing to care for women in a way that’s thoughtful, honest, and truly patient-centered.

Don’t rush to have all the answers.
Keep asking better questions. That’s where the growth is.

🚨 Tips on Tuesday: HORMONE NEWS (and the part no one is talking about)

On March 1, 2026, hormone therapy became fully covered in British Columbia.

A healthcare system just recognized that menopause care is essential—not optional.

💡 TIP: Coverage doesn’t equal care.

Because here’s the reality…

Now women have access—but they still need
👉 someone who actually knows how to prescribe it.

And that’s where things can fall apart 👇

Hormone therapy is not:
• One-size-fits-all
• A quick prescription
• “Here’s your patch, good luck”

It requires:
• Understanding symptom patterns
• Knowing how estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone work together
• Careful dosing + adjustments over time

⚠️ The truth:

We don’t have a hormone access problem.

We have a provider education problem.

✨ What this means for women (everywhere):

Even with coverage, you may still:
• Be dismissed
• Be underdosed
• Be given the wrong formulation
• Or be told “you don’t need it”

And I’ll say this clearly:

Access is step one.
Expertise is everything.

So yes—this is a win. A BIG one.

But now?

Women will have to find providers who actually know how to do this well.

Until then—advocate for yourself.
Ask better questions.
Expect better care.

📍 This is exactly why Eden Health Rx exists.

I had a moment to myself for a minute… and this is what I picked up.

Chapter 1 … I could have written from my clinic notes.

A 43-year-old woman doing everything right—eating less, working out more, holding it all together—and then suddenly… her body changes. Weight gain, no sleep, irritability, brain fog, loss of libido. She knows something is off.

So she goes to her doctor.

And like so many women I see every single week… she’s told to exercise more, eat less, maybe take an antidepressant. “You’re too young for this.”

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this exact story sitting across from my patients.

Different woman. Same experience.

It’s frustrating. It’s isolating. And it makes women start to question themselves.

But here’s the part I loved—when she finally finds someone who listens, everything starts to change. Not overnight, but directionally. Thoughtfully. With intention.

That’s the care women deserve.

Reading this just reminded me again why I do what I do every day. This doesn’t have to be the “normal” path through perimenopause.

And if this story sounds like you… I see you. I hear you. And there are answers 🤍
