Looking at that molding always tells us if our suspicions about presentation were right!!

This is why we always say that MOVEMENT IN BIRTH MATTERS!!!! 🤩🙌🏼

Did you know the pelvis isn’t a straight tunnel that your baby “passes through”, but rather a dynamic, curved rotational guide your baby actively NAVIGATES? Your baby doesn’t just descend, they rotate, adjust and respond to the physical pelvis and positions as birth unfolds.

What an intelligent design that babies are born with unfused skull bones, allowing molding and shape subtle (or sometimes not so subtle!) shape changes to accommodate the unique needs of labor…each baby, each time! Birth, then, is more like a dance between mom and baby, and we should be in awe every single time it works…I know I am! 💕

When mamas are untethered to wires and free to move their bodies, their babies can actively participate in and even have their bones temporarily adapt to the curves of the pelvis. It may look bizarre sometimes, but it’s physiology that works by a perfect design.

And don’t worry mamas, within days that cute head rounds right back out to that kissable shape that fits in cute bonnets and bows 🎀

Everyone gets so excited and expectant as soon as contractions start that they actually interrupt the natural hormone progression!
It’s so important to rest, relax, and just go about your day as usual!

One of the biggest mistakes families make when labor starts, is to try and force progress. Don't fall into this trap! Especially first time moms. Take the time to rest and nourish yourself. No need to be timing ctxs that are more then 8 mins apart. No need to run up and down stairs and exhaust yourself. REST and know baby will come in good time

VBAC mom delivered her sweet baby boy after only 4 hours of labor!! 🏆 Now her doulas are headed home to start their days 😍☀️
