If you look up tonight, January 6, you will see a royal meeting in the sky. The Waning Gibbous Moon (~87% illuminated) is shining brilliantly right next to Regulus, the brightest star in the constellation Leo.

Here is your guide to spotting this celestial duo:

📍 Where to Look: Look toward the Eastern horizon in the evening. The pair will rise mid-evening and travel high toward the South (or North if you are in the Southern Hemisphere) by dawn.

December 2025 is set to light up the night sky with a stunning series of celestial events. ✨

The month begins with a bright December Supermoon on the 4th, followed by a close encounter between the Moon and Jupiter on the 7th. The Geminid meteor shower reaches its peak on the 13th–14th, offering one of the most dazzling displays of the year.

On the 20th, the New Moon creates dark skies ideal for stargazing, just before the December Solstice arrives on the 21st. The month concludes with the Ursid meteor shower on the 22nd–23rd, adding a final burst of magic to the sky.

It’s a perfect month for skywatchers to step outside and enjoy these beautiful cosmic moments. 🌌
