Injury rehab built for you!

Here we are stacking cupping and dry needling with low frequency stim

We’re using cupping along either side of the surgical scar to lift the tissue and promote scar mobility as well as blood flow to healing tissue. We also move the cups while suctioned to promote better glide between the layers of muscle and connective tissue.

We’re using dry needling to decrease myofascial pain, improve range of motion and help restore function. We have low frequency stim hooked up to the needles to increase stimulation and activity to muscles to aid in recovery!

RNT Bottom Up Split Squat

This is used when someone shows a knee valgus with their lunge. Knee valgus is the knee coming inward and not staying in line with their hip/toes. This usually indicates a weakness in the lateral hip and confirmed with muscle testing and proper assessment.

The band pulls their knee further in acting as a cue to engage the hip and keep the knee in line. This is a great accessory drill to help with form.

Passive VS Active

Passive treatment is performed by the practitioner while you are stationary. Meaning you don’t have to do any work. This can be soft tissue work, cupping, stretching, adjustments, heat/ice, etc. these help in the SHORT TERM to help immediately relieve swelling, pain, inflammation, and mobility restrictions. These treatments typically do not have lasting results but are great in addition to active modalities.

Active treatments are performed by the patient. This can be corrective exercises, rehab, and strengthening. These are LONG TERM solutions to help strengthen your body in better positions. Active modalities are a long term solution to avoid symptoms from occurring again in the future.

Both of the treatment types play an important role in the healing process.

Your treatment shouldn’t look like everyone else who walks into the clinic.

Progression is the key to reaching your potential

When this gentleman first came to me he could literally barely make it up or down a flight of stairs, and was in severe chronic pain. He had been seeing another Chiro and PT for 2 years without seeing any results. He came to me and we have made improvements every single visit. What are we doing different? We took a proper assessment and used it to identify what the root problem was and then most importantly, we added progressive rehab and loading at every visit! We are strengthening him in functional positions! When I grabbed the trap bar he looked at me nervously with his eyes wider than I’ve ever seen. Not only was he able to easily do this, but the amount of confidence it has given him has been huge. Don’t be afraid to load your patients and strengthen them, THEY ARE NOT FRAGILE!

Tip Tuesday

Core engaged single leg lowering

This is a great core workout and/or warmup before lifting. Using the bands helps reinforce the core engagement during the leg lowering. Often I see people trying this exercise and they have their back curve off the ground. They feel this exercise more in their back than the core. This is where the bands come into play. Having tension on the band creates more control over the core and acts as a bit of a counter balance while lowering the leg.
