Back-to-school isn’t just a shift for kids, it’s a shift for parents, too.
New schedules. New routines. New stressors. And somehow, you’re expected to hold it all together while packing lunches and remembering permission slips. If you’re already feeling the back-to-school whiplash, here’s your reminder: you don’t have to do it all to be a good parent 💛
1 - Lower the Pressure, Not the Standards Focus on what truly matters in the morning (getting dressed, eating something, making it out the door). Let the rest slide when you need to. Perfection isn’t the goal - connection is.
2 - Create a Parent Support Pocket. Find that one person you can text, call, or voice-note when it’s “one of those days.” Someone who reminds you you’re not the only one figuring it out.
3 - Schedule Recovery Time. Even 10 minutes counts — a walk, music, coffee in peace and give yourself permission to protect it. A self cared-for parent is a steadier parent.
4 - Celebrate the Small Wins. Notice the little things that went right - even if the morning was messy. These moments remind you that you’re doing more right than you think.
Back-to-school season is easier when you protect your peace, lean on your people, and give yourself credit for the good that’s already here. 💛
