Hello everyone!! I havent posted in forever on this page it seems. I hope everyone is staying healthy and finding time for YOU. Like many, I too have been struggling with anxiety and struggle to make sense of everything going on in the world. The only real thing we can control is ourselves and how we react to things. I have found a renewed love of creating a harmonious space for myself and my son at home. Here are a few tips to creating a peaceful oasis you call home...
1. Simplify - go through clothes, cabinets cupboards, drawers, etc. A get rid of ALL unnecessary items. Separate into piles of KEEP, THROWAWAY and DONATE.
2. Organize - I'm the world's worst with being absent minded and forgetting where I put things, so I am getting into the habit of organizing. Use tubs, shelves and dividers to keep things organized, tidy and simple.
3. Clean daily - cleaning a little everyday, keeps you from having to spend your whole Saturday or Sunday cleaning. Immediately pick up after yourself so you don't fall into the procrastination trap. AGAIN, one of my old habits.
4. Essential oils - I'm sure we have all heard the great benefits of essential oils for our body but what about our home. I use essential oils to wipe down surfaces, a few drops in the sink drains of the kitchen and bathrooms, and even spray some of my lavendar spray on your linens and even in the air. Heck, while your at it, spray some on you too.
5. Take time to breathe - its crucial for a peaceful home, you must find time to reflect, relax your mind and just unwind. Diffuse some oils, put some on your palms and breathe deep. Another thing I practice is Saging my home once a month just to push out all of the negative energy and welcome the positive.
I hope these 5 tips can help a little during this time of great uncertainty and unknowing of what lies ahead of us.
Peace and light always
Namaste
