The Journey

My journey here started in 2013, the best manager I ever had approached me about becoming a peer breastfeeding counselor . I was so excited about the idea !! I have always loved everything mother/baby and it was almost a full circle moment. As an infant I was breastfed and particpated in a breastfeeding study here in Houston. I took the courses to recieve my first certificate to become a peer counselor in Texas and it was on from there !! I went on to earn my national certification and on to my IBCLC. In 2014, I would experience my own breastfeeding journey when my daughter arrived 3 months premature. I had to practice what I preached ! I pumped exclusively for the first few months, and when she was finally able to latch I was overjoyed . I am so grateful for the many incredible experiences that I have been able to have along this journey, I have worked in a hospital, where I worked with some of the most wonderful people in working to help the hospital acheieve the coveted Baby Friendly status. I’ve worked in the best milk bank in the Houston Medical Center, helping families to preserve and prepare the precious “ liquid gold” that their little ones desperately needed. Last but not least, I have had the honor to work in homes across the Houston area, educating and assisting families before and after delivery along their breastfeeding journey . I truly believe that this is the gift God gave me , I look forward to teaching, helping, and guiding now in the form of my own business! From my hands and my heart , I look forward to helping you !
