Today is the day of rest. Sometimes we can get too busy in our day to day life. Their seems to be a never ending of To-Do List’s and never enough time. We often forget to take a step back and focus on what’s really important.
Saturday is the day of rest, and with that comes a great reward. Rather it’s to spend it with the Lord and relax, or reading your Bible, learning His word. When we think of rest we sometimes picture it as being “lazy”. But The Lord didn’t have a day of rest for nothing. In us doing this we are also seeing how it helps us and our body. Our body needs rest in order to recover from what you’ve been putting it through. We need rest in order to tackle that To-Do List or you’ll never stop playing catch up. Stop feeling guilty for something you should be doing. Do you feel guilty when taken your vitamins, or minerals? The answer would most likely be no, so why would you feel guilty for resting? It’s just another form of healing. It’s the body telling you it needs to heal. Listen to it, love it, and don’t beat it up for needing rest. For God made us perfect in His image and when we live in His word, it in-turn helps us be better or in my case get better.
Just a little reminder to whoever might need to hear this. I still struggle with this to this day, but am much better about it than I use to be. I think mine comes from resting when I was sick & couldn’t get up & just would feel lazy. Now I know I wasn’t lazy I was healing. I would research, pray, rest. I believe all that has paid off to get me to where I am today. So, if you today are sick or chronically ill please, don’t beat yourself up.
