Many people think that OCD is only about wanting to be "super clean" and organized, but in reality it's about the overwhelming intrusion of thoughts and the compulsions that follow and disrupt daily life. For example, someone with OCD might believe that if something isn't organized in a specific way, then something terrible might happen to their home, so they engage in compulsions. With your help, we can challenge misconceptions, promote empathy, and support individuals with OCD!

La Terapia Cognitivo-Conductual (también conocida como TCC) se ha identificado como la terapia más eficaz para el TOC 🧠💪 Específicamente, la Exposición y Prevención de Respuesta (ERP) es el tipo de TCC que se recomienda. Por ejemplo, una forma de EPR consistiría en que una persona con TOC que tenga miedo a contaminarse toque conscientemente una superficie "contaminada" y luego practique no lavarse las manos inmediatamente después. Este proceso se repite gradualmente con un psicólogo para ayudar a reducir la ansiedad asociada a la compulsión 🌟🔁
