July is BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month — and we’re turning healing into a whole vibe. 🖤

Sis, You Good? — A Soul Care Experience for the Strong Friend is happening July 19th at LIT Java, and it’s the space every Strong Black Woman deserves:

🔥 Real talk on the cost of the Strong Black Woman Syndrome
🔥 Guided journaling + affirmation rituals
🔥 Deep sisterhood circles
🔥 And yes… a Twerk Out the Trauma session so we can literally shake it off! 🪩🍑

This isn’t therapy or your typical wellness event— it’s a release. A reset. A chance to drop the cape and connect with other powerful Black women who get it.

🗓️ Early bird tickets sold out! GA + VIP spots still open, but going fast.

This is what exhaustion looks like.
Not just tired. Bone tired. Soul tired.
Still getting up. Still carrying it all.

This image from Tyler Perry’s “Straw” featuring Taraji P. Henson stopped me in my tracks, because far too many Black women know this scene too well.

We push through illness.
We push through heartbreak.
We push through grief, racism, anxiety, and burnout.

Why?
Because life doesn’t pause when you’re overwhelmed.
Because help isn’t always there.
Because “strong” has become a survival requirement instead of a support system.

If you’re feeling like you’re barely holding it together, here are three gentle reminders:

1️⃣ Practice “micro-asks.”

Instead of waiting until you’re drowning to ask for help, start with small requests:
“Can you pick that up for me?”
“Can I vent for 5 minutes?”
“Can we move that meeting?”
You’re allowed to need things, and you can’t do it all.

2️⃣ Tell someone the truth.

Not the “I’m good.” The real answer. Give your pain somewhere to land.

3️⃣ Replace the to-do list with a “to-feel list.”

Ask yourself: What do I want to feel today?
Peaceful? Present? Less rushed?
Then build your day around that, not just what you can check off.

To every woman still showing up with no backup and no break: I see you, I hear you, and I support you. 🫶🏾

I had the joy of showing up as both a panelist and workshop facilitator, and y’all… the energy was everything.

In my breakout session, we got real about the self-limiting beliefs holding us back. Then we picked new seeds to remind us to be intentional about what we’re growing in the garden of our minds.

If you’re ready to start your own shift from just surviving to truly thriving, I’ve got something just for you.

This month, I get to celebrate two identities that are near and dear to my heart—being a Social Worker and a Black woman dedicated to the wellness of other Black women.

For me, social work isn’t just a profession—it’s a calling. My journey led me to found KBT Counseling and Consulting, PLLC, where I help high-achieving Black women—leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers—who carry the unspoken stress of success. The women who “make it look easy” but are secretly overwhelmed. The ones who are always “on” for everyone else but struggling to find space for themselves.

Sound familiar? Sis, you’re not alone.

💡 Here’s the truth: You can be successful AND have peace. You can be strong AND supported. You can lead AND prioritize your own well-being. That’s where I come in. I help Black women navigate stress, success, and sanity—because wellness is the foundation of sustained leadership and impact.

If you’re looking for a transformative women’s empowerment speaker, or ready to work together to reclaim your peace while maintaining your power, let’s connect!

1. Small Wins Matter: Write down every little victory—whether it’s acing a presentation or simply finishing your to-do list—and stash it in your favorite box.2. Facts Over Feelings: When you’re feeling stuck or not good enough, open your “win box” and read those sticky notes. Let the facts of your accomplishments remind you of your power.3. Celebrate Daily: Acknowledge even the smallest successes. Each note in your box is proof that you’re moving forward, no matter how small the step.4. Reframe Failure: When you perceive failure, flip the script by focusing on the evidence of your past successes. Your box is your personal record of triumphs.5. Empower Yourself: Keep that color foil sticky note in your box as a reminder: you’re amazing, you’re capable, and every little win is worth celebrating.Keep these talking points handy on your sticky note—open up your box when doubt creeps in, and let your wins remind you why you’re unstoppable.
