Hi, so I did a thing today. And I’m going to say I’m proud of me, because while I’ve had quite a bit of content that’s been waiting to be shared, I am a overthinking perfectionist who is in regular recovery, and this is one of those things that I haven’t done. But today I did.
So if you’re interested in my content, or want to see what else I might be saying, want a community away from IG or TikTok, come find me in Substack. I would love the support, and I hope to built a community with you. Link in my bio

Wanting acceptance and approval is human nature. We want to feel seen and praised- but when you’ve spent all your time following all the rules AND you still get criticized and rarely any of the positive feedback…you’re stuck in a never ending loop where you can try to follow everything and do it ‘right’….but they won’t be satisfied.
As much as you want to get that “good job, we’re so proud of you” moment, how unhappy are you in the process? How often have you kicked yourself for once again going against what makes you happy?

Culture thrives on propaganda.
It normalizes what’s not okay.
If it doesn’t feel good — it’s not for you.
If you’re unhappy — it’s not working.
You are not the problem.
Be willing to see the systems, beliefs, and expectations that are.

Let’s talk about narcissism

The word narcissist gets thrown around a lot these days. And while yes, some folks do show narcissistic traits, full-blown Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is actually pretty rare.

But here’s the thing — you don’t need a diagnosis to validate someone’s behavior is harmful to you.

Sometimes we spend so much energy trying to figure out what someone “is” that we forget the most important question: How is this behavior making me feel?

💭 Maybe they never take responsibility.
💭 Maybe it always feels like walking on eggshells.

You’re allowed to name those behaviors for what they are.
Not to slap a label on someone — but to give yourself clarity.
To say, “This is not okay, and I don’t deserve this.”

You get to focus on what’s in your control — setting boundaries, and taking care of you.

Do you struggle with labeling someone’s behavior vs. accepting how it made you feel? Drop a 💬 if you relate.

Sometimes, the last thing we need is another perfectly curated post reminding us how amazing someone else’s life looks. On it’s best days it can be inspiring, and on the tough ones- it can poke that feeling of not being “good enough.”

But I want humanity to show—this is mine.

Instead of chasing the perfect picture, I’m choosing to unlearn my people-pleasing, perfectionist tendencies. Because real self-care? It isn’t always pretty. It’s raw. It’s messy. It’s meeting yourself in the moment.

So if you take one thing from this post, let it be this:

Pause and ask yourself—What do I need today? What can I do to take care of my needs/ something I’ve been putting off?

Then, do it. Seriously, just do it. Leave the perfection need behind and act.

Life doesn’t fit into neat little boxes, no matter how hard we try. And that’s okay.

Comment “💖” when you’ve done the thing!

The mirror may feel like a place of judgment—highlighting everything wrong, everything lacking, everything that didn’t fit expectations. But what if the mirror wasn’t meant to criticize? What if your reflection was an invitation to see yourself with compassion, clarity, and love?

Mirror work isn’t just about looking at your reflection—it’s about rewriting the story you tell yourself. It’s about shifting the gaze from self-doubt to self-acceptance.

Swipe through to learn how mirror work can help you break free from the past and step into a more authentic, empowered version of you.

Are You Stuck in never-ending loop of South Asian Good Girl-ing? Let’s Talk. 💭✨

You’ve spent years being the “good girl”—saying yes when you wanted to say no, overthinking every decision, and waiting for things to be perfect before taking the next step. Sound familiar? 👀

💡 Good Girl Conditioning Sounds Like:
❌ You freeze when someone asks what you want.
❌ Making decisions sends you into analysis paralysis.
❌ Saying “no” makes you spiral into guilt and anxiety.
❌ You wait for the perfect moment before allowing yourself to start.
But here’s the truth: Perfection isn’t coming. Trying to have it figured all out before you make a move keeps you stuck.

Good news? This isn’t forever. You can start shifting by:
🔹 Noticing when these moments show up.
🔹 Identifying what you’d like to change.
🔹 Planning how you’ll respond differently next time.
🔹 Remember YOU have the power to break this cycle.

💭 What’s one thing you’ve been waiting for ‘perfect’ to start? Let’s release that together in the comments.

How many apologies have you gotten that just left you thinking, “that didn’t do anything for me.” And maybe mad, “why did you even apologize it was hollow.”
Accountable apologies aren’t about the ‘hurter’ feeling better; it’s them being accountable for the hurt they directed towards you.
Next time someone apologizes to you, it’s ok to want more of them than just ‘I’m sorry.’

The number of consultations I’ve had where people share the trash things they’ve heard from other therapists is too many to count. Therapy is a vulnerable place, and if we’re stung, it can put us off from pursuing support. Healing is for you, and you deserve to find someone who supports you.

Live in Texas? Book a consultation and find out if this is the start to safer healing for you.
