A new $1.5 million grant from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) is empowering UTHealth Houston to redefine cervical cancer care for Hispanic women in medically underserved areas. Through the Houston PAP Project, this funding will expand lifesaving follow-ups, early treatments, and services to select UT Physicians clinics across Harris County. 💙

“We want to be a destination for Hispanic women with abnormal cervical cancer screenings,” said Abigail S. Zamorano, MD, a gynecologic oncologist with UT Physicians and principal investigator of the grant.

The (people and pets, too!) couldn’t resist stepping outside to enjoy the magic of today’s rare snowfall! From building tiny snowmen to making snow angels, we embraced this winter surprise at home with our families—turning Houston into our very own winter wonderland. 🧣☃️

The safety of our patients and staff remains our top priority.

Due to the ongoing winter weather in the Greater Houston area, UT Physicians has adjusted clinic operations for Tuesday, Jan. 21, and Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Tuesday, Jan. 21: All UT Physicians clinic locations will be closed for in-person appointments. Video visits are expected to proceed as scheduled. Patients will be notified if their video visits need to be rescheduled.

Wednesday, Jan. 22: Clinics will open at noon to allow for safer travel conditions. If you have a morning appointment, we will contact you to reschedule or potentially convert it to a video visit.

Our team is contacting affected patients, and appointments may be converted to virtual visits when possible. Thank you for your understanding.

A morning bike ride turned catastrophic for Tara Dilley when an SUV struck her at an intersection, hurling her into a fight for survival. She was airlifted to a hospital with devastating injuries, including a leg so severely damaged it was nearly beyond saving. Thankfully, she found the expert care of Stephen Warner, MD, and Randal M. Camarillo, MD, both orthopedic surgeons at . Together, they developed a treatment plan to repair her injuries and restore mobility. 🦵🏥

With determination and months of relentless recovery, Tara regained her independence and ran a 10K in the 2024 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. 🏃‍♀️
