So refreshing to see an article sharing some truths on the keto diet fad. What many failed to share is that it's DANGEROUS to your health. Not only is it taxing for your kidneys and liver to process alllllll the extra fat, puts you at an increased risk for heart disease, AND breaks down your muscles because it's not getting the proper fuel, but if you don't stick to it to a T (which is difficult and unsustainable), the weight comes right back, so you're fighting an uphill battle in addition to putting your health at risk.
Our bodies are designed to use carbs (sugar/glucose) as fuel and it's important to balance the macro nutrients- carbs, protein & fat. Truthfully, there are no shortcuts for losing weight and getting fit. It takes consistency and focus, and it's something you have to work on every day, but it doesn't have to be difficult or confusing. It can even be lots of fun!
When you're properly fueling your body, it will naturally regulate the weight to an ideal, healthy weight. It may be uncomfortable in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it it becomes easy, exciting and FUN, especially as your healthiest body emerges and you have increased energy and zest for life!
