A Texas woman is mourning the loss of five family members after recent flash flooding claimed their lives. As she prepares for their funerals, she also faces the unexpected financial burden that comes with such a tragic loss.
In her GoFundMe, she writes:
"On July 4th, our lives changed forever. In the early morning hours, a catastrophic flood in Ingram, Texas took five beloved members of our family, my Mother, DeeAnn, and my Stepfather, Gary, as well as my sister, Megan, her husband, and their young daughter, Harley. The grief is beyond words, and we are still trying to comprehend how to move forward without them.
My Husband and I never imagined having to ask for help like this. But no one expects to wake up and suddenly carry the weight of four funerals. On top of that, we’ve had to take on significant debt to ensure their estates are properly managed and their affairs are handled with the care they deserve. The financial burden is more than we can manage on our own, and we are doing everything we can to honor their lives and say goodbye with the dignity they deserve."
Megan’s in-laws will be organizing a separate fundraiser on her husband Jake’s behalf.
