With over a decade of clinical, academic, and community-based experience, dr. Markie will bring valuable insights into how we can strengthen mental health support in the adult industry.
Her work has earned her multiple awards, including honors from the Society for the Scientific Study of S*xuality, the Wisconsin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the University of Wisconsin, where she was recognized as a System Honoree of the Dr. P. B. Poorman Award for Outstanding Achievement on Behalf of LGBTQ+ People.

She is a counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist, a clinical fellow and approved supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and certified s*xuality educator and supervisor through the American Association for S*xuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). She is also a registered member of the College of S*xual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).
In addition, dr. Markie is a Teaching Faculty and the Graduate Student Research Chairperson in the Doctoral and Masters Couple and Family Therapy programs, as well as the Director of Outcomes and Accreditation and Interim Program Director of the S*xuality Studies Certificate Program in the Relational Therapy Division at Antioch University and (New England and Seattle campuses) in the Graduate School of Counseling, Therapy, and Psychology. She is also the Session Instructor in the University of Guelph Professional S*xuality Practices Clinical Training Program.
dr. Markie serves as Editor-in-Chief of S*xual and Relationship Therapy: International Perspectives on Theory, Research and Practice and has co-authored several books, including The Internet Family: Technology in Couple and Family Relationships, The Couple and Family Technology Framework: Intimate Relationships in a Digital Age, and Focused Genograms: Attachment Focused Intergenerational Assessment of Individuals, Couples, and Families (2nd ed.) She also co-edited Eco-Informed Practice: Family Therapy in an Age of Ecological Peril.
