Universal Beyond Bars

UBB aims to help correctional facilities in promoting positive change in offender behavior, reintegrating them into society and reducing recidivism rates.

The Universal Beyond Bars Group (UBB) is one of the many outreach groups within The Universal Church (TUC) It aims to help correctional facilities and their staff in promoting positive change in offender behavior, reintegrating offenders into society and reducing recidivism rates. Hardly a week goes by without a report or newspaper article on the causes and effects of crime. UBB’s mission is to address the underlying factors that lead people into crime in the first place. UBB consists of volunteers who support offenders, their families and correctional staff throughout the USA both physically and spiritually. We are firm believers in the power of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to completely transform and save lives. We are passionate about working with those who society usually despises. Prison/jail inmates are often seen as society’s failures; people who can be set aside and forgotten or who are feared, condemned and despised for the wrong that they did. The harder and more challenging the case, the greater our faith and determination to see a breakthrough. It’s a real pleasure when we see people turn their backs on a criminal lifestyle to build something positive for the future.

Mission: To help correctional facilities and their staff in promoting positive change in offender behavior, reintegrating offenders into society and reducing recidivism rates.

[09/30/20]   No Need to Sugarcoat It!

the back of a man in business suit with his right hand raised and the other hand behind his back with his
Have you ever asked somebody a question and then sat and listened as they tried to sugarcoat the truth? Their answer wasn’t as good as they wanted it to be and so they added some “spice” in order to make it sound better.

Frustrating right? Especially when you need the facts of that answer in order to take a decision.

There are many people who try to sugarcoat their life before God. They come to Him with “half-truths” about their life and feelings, thinking that they can hide the details that they are ashamed of.

They may even be able to deceive you and I but not God – nothing is hidden from God.

I’m going to let you into a secret: Jesus knows all about us! When He asks a question, He already knows the answer. He is just waiting to see if we will be straightforward, or if we will try to sugarcoat it.

Remember Zacchaeus? He had some dark secrets. He was a tax collector who took more than he should have. But Jesus (knowing everything about him), called Zacchaeus by name. Zacchaeus didn’t try to decorate his words, he knew that Jesus already knew everything and decided that it was better to be honest and face the consequences:

“Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” (Luke 19:8)

Those consequences however, were not what he expected. Jesus didn’t look down on him or judge him; Jesus blessed his honesty.

And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:9-10)

Jesus came to save the lost, but it is up to the lost to decide to be honest and change the way they are living.

God wants your honesty, tell Him exactly how it is, so that He can rescue your soul. There is nothing you can hide from God so just be honest and tell Him that you want to change.

Just like with Zacchaeus, God will forgive you and rescue your soul.

May the God of the Bible bless you.

[09/23/20]   THIS is Faith

A blindfolded man walking towards the edge of a building and a giant hand waiting to catch him before he falls
Supernatural faith knows no limits. It does not doubt, it does not ‘go with the flow,’ it does what needs to be done – and the results that follow are proof of that.

Supernatural faith is a man taking his wife, and leaving his father’s land, his relatives and everything he has ever known, to an unknown place simply because he heard a voice tell him to do so. This man was Abraham.

Supernatural faith is a woman hiding two men of God – whom she had never met before – in her home, risking her own life so that they would not be killed by her very own people. This woman was Rahab.

Supernatural faith is a Man using His saliva to make clay from the ground, rubbing it on the eyes of a certain blind man so that, once he washed his face, he may regain his sight. This Man is Jesus.

I say again, supernatural faith knows no limits! Faith is the language God speaks. And for God, there is nothing too hard or too impossible for Him to do.

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)

Supernatural faith sees no human capacity, no skin color, no gender, no race nor nationality. If a person can show they believe through their actions, obey God’s commandments and not doubt – this my dear reader, THIS is faith! And nothing will be impossible for a person who has this supernatural faith.

“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27)

May the God of the Bible bless you
