Healing can easily pull us back into old stories, venting, replaying what hurt us, and reliving the emotions tied to those experiences.
Those feelings are valid and deserve to be acknowledged.
But healing isn’t meant to keep us there.
When we stay focused only on what happened, it’s easy to slip into victimhood, where our energy stays attached to the past and our nervous system remains activated. Over time, this can limit emotional intelligence, keeping us stuck in cycles of blame, resentment, or repeated disappointment.
True healing happens when we shift the question from
“What hurt me?”
to
“What pattern am I repeating now?”
Patterns, not events are what keep us stuck.
When we begin to recognize our patterns on a deeper level, something changes. We gain clarity. We reclaim choice. We stop reliving the past and start responding differently in the present.
That’s where freedom lives.
That’s where emotional maturity grows.
And that’s where a new sense of excitement and possibility begins.
