✨ Testimonial Tuesday: Clients Love Brittney! ✨

When families start touring senior living communities, one of the most common things we hear is: “I don’t even know what I should be looking for.”

That’s exactly where having someone like Brittney by your side makes all the difference.

With her background in assisted living and memory care, she knows what matters beneath the surface: the things you can’t always see on a tour but can absolutely feel later if the fit isn’t right. She steps in, asks the right questions, and helps you see the full picture so you can move forward with confidence.

When you need senior care, it truly helps to have an experienced guide in your corner - someone who is both knowledgeable and genuinely kind.

If you’re starting this journey (or even just thinking ahead), we’re here to help. 💜

The Woodlands Senior Care team partnered with Erica Nicole Serrano of At Your Side Home Care to bring the Woodlands Dementia Experience back to Bonterra today, and we were blown away by not just the HUGE turnout but by the engagement of this amazing group!

We love bringing the Experience to people who need it, because when you know better, you do better! 💜

Thank you for having us!

The residents of Bonterra showed up in big numbers today for the Woodlands Dementia Experience and we are so grateful for our time with y'all!

46 people showed up! 46 individuals who chose to lean in, learn, and better understand how to care for the people they love who are living with dementia. That kind of turnout doesn’t just happen… it reflects a community that truly cares.

Your engagement, your thoughtful questions, and your willingness to see the world through a different lens made the Woodlands Dementia Experience so impactful. It’s SO powerful to be in a room full with so much energy and heart!

A special thank you to Len and Wynde for bringing this together and making it all possible!

And to everyone who attended, thank you for showing up in such a meaningful way. The ripple effect of what you learned will be felt far beyond that room.

When you know better, you do better. 💜

Make your best move! Senior living can be costly, and fee structures vary more than many families realize. What seems “affordable” at first may not remain that way over time.

Base rent, care fees, point systems, medication management, and bundled or all-inclusive models can all affect the true long-term cost. Understanding how those pieces work together is key to making a thoughtful decision.

The goal isn’t just finding a community that works today — it’s choosing one that will still make sense as needs evolve in the future.

That’s where thoughtful guidance can make all the difference. At Woodlands Senior Care, we help families look at the full picture so they can make confident, informed decisions.

Choosing the right care setting isn’t just about finding availability—it’s about truly understanding the person behind the need.

At Woodlands Senior Care, we take the time to look at the full picture: how your loved one is experiencing the world day to day, what’s changing, and what will help them feel safe, supported, and understood. From wandering and anxiety to sleep patterns, mobility, and medical needs. Every detail matters.

That’s where our experienced team makes all the difference. You’re not navigating this alone. You have a phenomenal, highly skilled group of advocates walking alongside you: people who know these communities inside and out and care deeply about getting it right. Our team's many years of hands-on experience in senior living navigation and memory care bring an added level of insight, compassion, and expertise to the families we serve.

This isn’t about finding a generic memory care for just any person with dementia. It’s about finding the right fit - where your loved one can experience care that truly fits their needs.

Our services are always free for seniors & their families.

In case you missed it, we made a big announcement yesterday, welcoming Brittney Stirpe to our team! Sandra and I could not be more proud to be working with her, and we're grateful that she's chosen to join the mission with us!

We’ve always believed that the heart of what we do is service.

Walking alongside families during some of the most emotional, overwhelming, and important decisions they’ll ever make is not something we take lightly. It’s a responsibility and a privilege that we carry with us every single day.

As more families reach out for guidance, we’ve been thoughtful about how to grow in a way that never compromises the care, attention, and ethics that define Woodlands Senior Care.

That’s why we’re so excited to welcome Brittney to our team. Her extensive experience in memory care, along with her genuine passion for helping families find the right fit, allows us to expand our reach while staying true to who we are.

Growth, for us, isn’t about getting bigger.
It’s about serving better.

With Brittney on board, we’re able to support more families, spend more time where it matters most, and continue providing the kind of thoughtful, personalized guidance that every family deserves.

If you or someone you love is beginning to navigate senior living options, you don’t have to do it alone. We’re here—every step of the way.

Many families are surprised to learn that Assisted Living is not the same as a nursing home.

Assisted Living communities are designed to support daily life — helping residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, medication reminders, meals, mobility, and overall safety. They provide a strong safety net while still allowing residents to maintain as much independence as possible.

What Assisted Living does not provide is ongoing medical care. Instead, most communities work closely with partner providers chosen by the families — such as physicians, nurse practitioners, home health, therapy, and hospice — who visit regularly and collaborate with the community staff to meet residents’ medical needs.

This model allows residents to receive supportive care in a comfortable residential setting while still having access to the medical services they need.

Understanding how these pieces fit together helps families choose the right type of community — and avoid ruling out options that may actually be a great fit.

If you’re trying to make sense of the different types of senior living, we’re always happy to help.

“Can someone still come and go after moving into senior living?”

This is one of the most common questions families ask.

There’s a misconception that once someone moves into a senior living community, they’re somehow “stuck” there. In reality, most residents in Independent Living and Assisted Living are free to come and go — visiting family, attending appointments, going to church or events, taking trips, and continuing to enjoy life outside the community.

In Memory Care, there are additional safety measures in place to reduce the risk of wandering. Even so, outings are absolutely possible when planned with the right support, helping residents stay connected to the people and experiences that matter most. 💜

Senior living is designed to support independence and quality of life — not limit it.

If you’re trying to understand how different types of senior living really work, we’re always happy to help.

💜 What Is Person-Centered Care?

Person-centered care means placing the individual at the heart of every decision. It looks beyond a diagnosis to understand the whole person — their history, preferences, routines, strengths, and what truly matters to them.

When care is built around the person, not just the condition, the results are powerful.
It can lead to better outcomes, deeper connections, preserved dignity, and a higher quality of life.

But person-centered care starts even earlier — with person-centered placement.

Every senior living community has its own personality, culture, and care model. The right fit makes all the difference in how someone feels, how they’re supported, and how well they thrive.

At Woodlands Senior Care, we take the time to understand the whole person so we can help families find the community that truly fits.

Because when care starts with the person, everything works better. 💜

We're proud to partner with At Your Side Home Care to offer the Woodlands Dementia Experience, and the results have been amazing! When you know better, you do better!

When you know better, you do better.

We recently heard from a gentleman who attended the Woodlands Dementia Experience, and what he shared truly stayed with us.

After participating in the experience, he said it completely changed how he cares for his wife.

💜 He now approaches her from where she can see him.
💜 He makes sure her food and drink are placed clearly in her field of vision.
💜 He thoughtfully reduces background noise and distractions so she isn’t overwhelmed.
💜 He intentionally “sets the scene” for calm, positive interactions.

Small changes — but life-changing results.

The Woodlands Dementia Experience helps people step into the world of someone living with dementia so they can better understand the challenges with sensory processing, communication, and daily tasks. When you understand what the experience feels like, it becomes much easier to respond with patience, compassion, and strategies that truly help.

💜 If you care for or interact with someone living with dementia — a spouse, parent, neighbor, client, or friend — this experience can transform the way you support them.
