I’m happy to share the full recovery of my patient who sustained a fractured pelvis. After being non–weight-bearing for 4 weeks, she is now back to her normal self. She trusted the process, stayed consistent with her therapy, and welcomed each session with a smile.

Doing this work from the heart and witnessing someone regain their independence is the greatest reward from a therapist’s perspective.

It’s important to remember that every recovery journey is unique. Healing is not only shaped by the medical condition, but also by the individual behind it. In therapy, we don’t just treat injuries… we care for human beings. Each person brings emotional, psychological, and social factors that can either challenge or drive their progress.

PS: she earned a Venezuelan treat at the end (alfajores) 🥲😋

One of the most moving patients I’ve ever worked with 💙

A young adult with ALS…
➡️ Outlived the 2–5 year life expectancy
➡️ Bedbound, on a respirator
➡️ Could only communicate by blinking

And yet… he radiated positivity ✨
Every visit, he showed excitement — just from human connection.

His mom was his rock ❤️ Caring for him daily, handling every appointment, and providing for him.

As his PT, I couldn’t reverse ALS…
But I could:
✔️ Prevent complications
✔️ Support his caregivers
✔️ Bring comfort + connection

👉 His story is a reminder:
We can’t control tomorrow.
But we CAN control how we live today.

Take care of your health.
Cherish your time.
Tomorrow is never promised 🌎
