Upward Abilities is seeking Recreational therapists to serve clients under the TX CLASS program, IDD, at their homes/communities.Therapists must be self-motivated, adaptable, enthusiastic, compassionate, and must have basic computer skills. Therapists are responsible for,….
-in person 1:1 therapy to adolescents and/or adults in order to develop greater independence .
- planning and implementing ICP that are representative of the client's needs.
-documenting progress notes and signature sheets weekly/biweekly biweekly basis
-establish quarterly and annual reports.

Therapist will be required to:
-have liability insurance, car insurance, adequate transportation and access to internet/computer.
-complete and provide a clean background check and no infractions against their licensure.
-hold and maintain up-to-date licensure and certifications.

Recreational Therapy: National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or a therapeutic recreation specialist certified by the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activities Certification, Inc (CTRAC)

Aquatic Therapy: must be provided by a CTRS/CTRAC hold a certificate of completion of the "Basic Water Rescue" course from the American Red Cross; certified by the American Red Cross as a lifeguard

UPWard Abilities is hiring for Recreational Therapist and Aquatic Therapist. This is a 1099 independent contracting role with a minimum of 10 hours per week and opportunity for full-time. Locations for hire in or near Houston , Texas. Hourly pay $42-55 based on experience.
