On June 10th, Heroes in Health hosted a family BBQ at the Houston Polo Club to kick-off summer with Memorial Hermann Life Flight®. Heroes mingled with the crew members and learned Polo 101 from a professional jockey while the kiddos got to explore the Life Flight helicopter, get their faces painted and play in a moon walk! Everyone was invited to stay for the polo match following the BBQ. The highlight of the afternoon was when Heroes in Health Steering Committee members, Mari & Bryan Glass and Bethany & Ben Buchanan, presented Life Flight with a $149,155 check from the fifth annual Sporting Clay Shoot proceeds. Over the past five years, the Clay Shoot has raised nearly $870,000 for Life Flight. These resources enable Life Flight to continue to serve Houston and surrounding communities during a patient's greatest time of need.

Held at the new luxury high rise, The Southmore, The Heart of the Matter: An Evening with the Adult & Pediatric Physicians of Memorial Hermann allowed Heroes in Health members and guests to learn about the unique collaboration our cardiovascular physicians have to provide a full continuum of care across the ages.

On Halloween, Heroes in Health members volunteered at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital's annual Halloween Carnival. Members got the chance to dress up in costume and make pumpkin masks with our young patients - fun times for the children and our volunteers!

On May 10th, Heroes in Health hosted a reception highlighting the maternal fetal medicine physicians. Heroes had the opportunity to hear from Susie Distefano, SVP and CEO, Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, Dr. Sean Blackwell, Chief-of-Service, Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital and grateful patients Stacy and Jason Johnson. Following the program, guests enjoyed light bites and mingled with the incredible physicians who work daily to improve the health of mothers and babies in our community.

Heroes in Health volunteers were excited to participate in this year's festivities at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. Happy Holidays!

The outpatient holiday party was a blast! Kids decorated gingerbread houses, won prizes, and played holiday-themed games with the physicians, nurses and child life team members.
