Job Summary
Provides chemical dependency counseling and chemical dependency education for residential and IOP clients, and their families. Must be an attentive and Non – Judgmental listener, as well as compassionate; exhibit strong writing skills, and ability to convey information in a clear, concise and conversational and professional manner.
Primary Responsibilities
• Responsible for providing counseling therapies including group, individual and family therapy for clients suffering from primary substance abuse issues, as well as co-morbidities.
• Works with multi-disciplinary team to develop individualized plan of care.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation for each client regarding Assessments, Master Treatment Plans and updates, and any other significant incidents daily. As well as crisis management, motivational interviewing, life skills training, working directly with Case Management services,
• Considers the diverse needs of each client through the entire continuum of care, providing and ensuring the highest level of service according to established service standards, optimizing the client’s experience.
Qualifications
• Associates degree in a behavioral health-related discipline
• Completion of a DSHS-authorized internship; or at least two (2) years of experience in a chemical dependency or related scope of service
• Willingness to commit to the CORE Values of treating everyone with respect and dignity.
• Must be a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the State of Texas
