One day, coffee causes cancer; the next, it cures cancer.
One day, wine is good for you; the next it kills you.
One day eggs cause heart disease; next day they are good for you.
One day, salt is bad; next day it is seen as an important electrolyte.
Given its self-contradictory wishy-washiness, can nutrition science be trusted?
The answer: it depends!
You need to look at the source of the funding. Unfortunately, the great majority of the science done in nutrition is paid by big corps. In other words, they come up with studies to show that their foods are good. For example, they recently claimed that Lucky Charms cereal was healthier than meat! How absurd is this statement!
No wonder why people are so confused!!!
We need to go back to basics.
An optimum diet is based on food that is grown and raised, not packaged in a box!
In other words, your diet should include healthy meat, healthy fats, vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc.
Specifically, an optimum diet is about 60-70% fats, 20-30% proteins, and the remaining balance carbs.
