Although our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the truly remarkable life of Dr. Richard Hopping and feel honored that Drs. Ron, Desiree, Reed and Grant Hopping will proudly carry on his legacy. What an Optometry legend he is!

A past AOA president and warrior for the profession has passed away. The AOA sends condolences to the Hopping family as they remember their father and role model.

A big WELCOME to our newest doctor:

We are proud to announce that Dr. Rachel Lootens has joined Hopping Eye Associates!

Dr. Lootens is a Houston native and optometrist with a passion for comprehensive, patient-centered care. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she received four Clinical Letters of Excellence for outstanding patient care.

Dr. Lootens has advanced training in ocular disease, dry eye management, pediatric eye care, specialty contact lenses, and surgical co-management including LASIK and cataract care. Her approach integrates her background in nutrition and fitness, promoting whole-body wellness alongside ocular health.

We are excited to have her in the practice and are confident that she will provide the excellent high quality vision care that our patients have come to expect. She is seeing patients in our Clear Lake location and it couldn't have come at a better time. The back to school rush has begun and our schedules are filling up quickly, so call us soon to schedule your appointment!

So extremely proud and happy to share the celebration of our longest employee in the practice, our sweet "Mama Margaret" 😜

Margaret started working in our Clear Lake office 30 (yes 30) years ago. After opening our Friendswood office in 2007, she transitioned to working in that location and is still going strong today! Her caring and warm demeanor, along with her outstanding work ethic quickly made her one of our most valued team members and her impeccable professionalism and compassion has made her a fan favorite with our patients.

Margaret, thank you for your loyalty and dedication to the practice and our patients for all of these years! We feel truly blessed to have you and look forward to many more years to come! 🩷
