In 2021 my life coach tasked me with writing out my life vision and energetic blueprint. Had no idea what to write. Even up to two hours before the session where I was supposed to present it to her. I felt stuck.

I decided to go into meditation and while in a very deep state out of the clear blue it hit me. I took out my nearby pen and paper and started writing. It was almost unconscious. I remember not “thinking” about any of it. The words were flowing out of me and into my notebook with such ease and I remember feeling so good and true as I was writing.

Everything about the words felt “right”. It only took about 15 minutes and I was done.

My blueprint was complete..without any revisions or second thoughts - and it was perfect. I cried when I read it. I still cry to this day.

It’s 3 years later and at least half of what I wrote is true. What’s even more amazing to me is feeling I felt as I was writing - pure bliss and happiness - I can now tap into that feeling anytime I want. The energy of this blueprint is 100% true and it feels so good.

My life is not perfect, but what it’s been cemented in me over the last three years is that happiness is a choice. You can create the life you want. You can feel how you want to feel. You can feel happy and you can feel good way more often than not.

Lasting change doesn’t happen over night and you will hit some bumpy roads as you go, but like anything else, the more you practice the better you become.

Consider your workout gear a costume that allows you to stop worrying about what to make for dinner, upcoming work deadlines, or financial stresses. Just focus on your current work: your workout.

Are you in the habit of snacking on a box of cookies while you watch TV before bed?

Do you make a point to stop by the drive-thru to get a sugary coffee drink every morning?

Do you reach for a candy bar when you need an afternoon pick-me-up?

By pinpointing WHEN you indulge in sugar, you may begin to unravel your WHY.

Maybe you’re eating sugary foods because your meals aren't filling or providing enough nutrients. If so, think about what you can do to boost your meals to keep you satisfied.

Maybe you’re using sugar for pleasure or as a mood-booster. If so, identify what mood or feelings you’re trying to escape or cover-up.

Maybe you’re using sugary drinks to keep you awake throughout the day. If so, is it because you aren’t getting proper sleep?

When it comes to making healthy habits and lifestyle changes, we’re all learning. Be kind to yourself through this exploratory process and don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, or for support along the way!

Since working out isn’t always going to be enjoyable or comfortable, it’s critical to do everything you can to make yourself comfortable AS you work out. Make sure that you choose clothing that is supportive and comfortable but doesn’t restrict movement. Also, don’t wear clothing that you’re constantly pulling up or adjusting. Investing in workout outfits you feel good in can go a long way in motivating you to keep up your exercise routine!

When you start working out, it won’t be fun. Sorry. But there is some good news!

Over time, the brain will begin to associate sweat and (some) pain with the surge of endorphins aka feel-good hormones. Once that conditioning occurs, regular exercise will become a bit of an addiction, in a good way!

Introducing and adjusting your tastebuds to other tastes (like sour and bitter) will help them reset, in turn, allowing you to crave less sugar.

Start with just a little bit of something outside of your ordinary palette, like arugula on a homemade pizza, or sipping on a black coffee instead of a latte.

Additionally, it might be worthwhile for you to visit an international grocery store, or just try new dishes and cuisines outside of your usual rotation.
