Wheelchair Racing Coach:
Amanda McGrory

4 x Paralympian
7 x Paralympic Medalist
Past winnner of the Chicago, New York, London and Tokyo Marathons.

McGrory attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
from 2004-2010 on an athletic scholarship before pursuing a full-time career as a professional wheelchair marathoner. She received her MSLIS in 2018 from UIUC and was hired by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee as the Archivist and Collections Curator in July of 2020.

Supporting Athletes with Physical Disabilities

Houston Adapted Sports Club is a 501 (c) (3) non profit created to support local Houston athletes with physical disabilities participate in adapted sports. Houston is home to 3 National Wheelchair Basketball Association wheelchair basketball teams and one United States Quad Rugby Association wheelchair rugby teams. In addition to wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby, we also have wheelchair tennis, amputee tennis, adapted fitness, beep baseball (baseball for people with visual impairments) and amputee soccer. All of our practices and events are located at the Houston Metropolitan Multiservice Center (West Gray).
