Interfaith Community Clinic

Interfaith Community Clinic Mission: Providing medical care, dental care, counseling and patient service assistance to uninsured in Montgomery County.

Founded by Dr. Joel Kerschenbaum, the South County Community Clinic, dba Interfaith Community Clinic (ICC) opened its doors in 1996 to meet the medical needs of the uninsured population. As the needs of the community have grown, so have the services offered at the clinic. Today, the clinic continues to provide quality basic medical and dental care, counseling and patient services to individuals in

need. A volunteer staff of licensed physicians, nurses, medical providers, dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, as well as translators and support personnel work together to provide patient care. Interfaith Community Clinic encourages patients to make a dontation as a contribution to their care. Patient services will not be denied if a client is unable to do so. Programs are provided free of charge and are funded by the generous financial support of grants, faith based organizations, businesses, civic groups, and individuals.

This week, we said goodbye to a very special member of our Interfaith Community Clinic family.

Over the past year, Kate has served as a Medical Assistant with compassion, dedication, and a genuine heart for helping others. Whether caring for patients, supporting our medical team, or offering a kind smile, Kate has made a lasting impact on everyone she has encountered.

While we will miss her greatly, we are incredibly excited to celebrate her next chapter as she heads to North Carolina to begin medical school. We have no doubt that the same kindness, intelligence, and commitment she has shown here at the clinic will make her an exceptional physician.

Please join us in wishing Kate endless success, happiness, and fulfillment as she follows her dreams. Thank you, Kate, for all you have given to our patients and our community. We are so proud of you and can't wait to see all that you accomplish!

We are so grateful for the continued support from Junior League of The Woodlands, Inc.!

Junior League of The Woodlands joined community leaders and supporters at the Women Empowering Women Luncheon benefiting Interfaith Community Clinic.

This incredible event raised nearly $170,000 to support the Clinic’s work serving uninsured and underinsured residents across Montgomery County.

We were especially honored for Junior League of The Woodlands to be recognized as “Partner Who Cares” for our continued support of the Healthy Kids Festival through volunteer service and resources dedicated to helping local children and families thrive.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and at Interfaith Community Clinic, we understand that everyone's needs are different. That's why we are committed to filling the gaps in access to mental health services for the community we serve. As a whole, we often misunderstand mental health because it is hard to define. Additionally, mental health includes several areas that involve one’s social, emotional, and psychological well-being. Mental health affects thoughts, feelings, and actions. When one has positive mental health, they are better equipped to handle stress, be more productive, and realize their full potential.

Our Clinic serves as a resource for teenagers and adults when their needs are immediate. Contact The Clinic with questions or to schedule an appointment at 281-364-7889.

For more than a decade, Ed has been a steady and compassionate presence at Interfaith Community Clinic, serving as a volunteer receptionist and often the very first face our patients see.
With her warm smile and bilingual abilities, Ed helps create a welcoming environment where every individual feels seen, heard, and supported from the moment they walk through our doors. Her kindness and dedication set the tone for the care and compassion our clinic strives to provide each and every day.

We are proud to celebrate Ed during Volunteer Appreciation Month not only for her years of service, but also for her recent recognition as a Woman Who Cares award recipient at the Women Empowering Women Luncheon. This honor reflects what we have always known, Ed’s heart for serving others makes a lasting difference in the lives of so many.

Thank you, Ed, for more than 10 years of incredible service. You truly embody what it means to love your neighbor.
