Interfaith Community Clinic

Mission: Providing medical care, dental care, counseling and patient service assistance to uninsured in Montgomery County.

Founded by Dr. Joel Kerschenbaum, the South County Community Clinic, dba Interfaith Community Clinic (ICC) opened its doors in 1996 to meet the medical needs of the uninsured population. As the needs of the community have grown, so have the services offered at the clinic. Today, the clinic continues to provide quality basic medical and dental care, counseling and patient services to individuals in need. A volunteer staff of licensed physicians, nurses, medical providers, dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, as well as translators and support personnel work together to provide patient care. Interfaith Community Clinic encourages patients to make a dontation as a contribution to their care. Patient services will not be denied if a client is unable to do so. Programs are provided free of charge and are funded by the generous financial support of grants, faith based organizations, businesses, civic groups, and individuals.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month 🩵

This month, we come together to raise awareness, provide education, and support the millions of individuals and families affected by diabetes. Diabetes Awareness Month is a reminder of the importance of early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and access to proper care and resources.

Throughout November, we encourage everyone to learn the signs, understand the risk factors, and support those living with Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. Small steps like staying active, choosing balanced meals, and getting regular checkups can make a big difference.

Show your support this month by wearing blue, sharing educational resources, and uplifting those impacted by diabetes. Together, we can spread awareness, promote prevention, and inspire healthier communities.

Mission Monday: Inspiring patient stories from our clinic.

When a young woman in her mid-20s discovered a lump in her breast, she was told by several providers she was too young for concern. At Interfaith Community Clinic, she finally found a place that listened. Our team provided timely care, a referral for a mammogram, and a biopsy — which thankfully revealed a benign fibroadenoma.

She left relieved and grateful, finally having answers, peace of mind, and care she might not have received anywhere else. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to be a place women can turn to for compassionate, accessible care, and through our partnership with Memorial Hermann In The Pink of Health, early detection. 💗
