June is not just about one identity—it’s about all the identities we carry and the systems we navigate.

Let this month remind us: Healing is not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Let’s break the cycle! Black men deserve more than survival. They deserve support, safety, softness, and space to heal.

Mental health challenges often go unspoken, misdiagnosed, or masked behind survival mode. But the truth is, pain has always had a voice in the Black community, even in the music.

Tupac, Geto Boys, Rod Wave, and Kid Cudi weren’t just writing lyrics — they were expressing their cries for help disguised as storytelling.

Let’s normalize mental wellness as a form of resistance and love.

💬 How are you supporting Black men’s mental health this week?

🎓 Graduation season is beautiful, but for many, the transition into post-grad life comes with quiet grief.

The excitement of crossing the stage can quickly be replaced by uncertainty, disappointment, and pressure to figure it all out right away. If you've felt overwhelmed, unsure, or like you’re just "off" since graduation, you're not alone.

This phase of life can be a mixture of pride and confusion, wondering why things aren’t falling into place the way you expected. But here’s the truth: You’re not broken. You’re adjusting. Growth is rarely linear, and healing often involves more than just moving on from the past—it’s about figuring out who you are now and how to navigate a world that doesn’t always offer immediate answers.

✨ Take it one breath, one step, one day at a time. It’s okay not to have it all figured out. Show yourself compassion and allow time for this transition to unfold naturally.

📥 Share this with someone who might need this reminder. Post-grad life doesn’t come with a map, but you are stronger than you think.

Let’s normalize these difficult emotions that don’t fit the typical “graduation celebration” narrative. You deserve support. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about the next steps, therapy can help.

💜 Remember: You’re allowed to take time to grieve this transition. Patience is part of healing.

✨ Save this for when the self-doubt creeps in. You are on your journey, and every part of it—both the highs and lows—counts.

🖤 Our healing is overdue—and unstoppable

Mental health in the Black community is about action, advocacy, and access. These truths are ours to name, and ours to heal.

Let’s keep breaking the silence, challenging the stigma, and making space for collective care. Black therapists matter. Black healing matters. You matter. 💬✨

GET TO KNOW ME:

When I graduated with my MSW, my first job was at a law office assisting with Social Security Disability applications. At the time, I felt discouraged—like I wasn’t fully using my degree in the way I had imagined. But looking back, that experience gave me skills I STILL use in every role I’ve had since!

Social work is everywhere. It’s a multifaceted field that can be applied in law, healthcare, education, corporate spaces, and beyond. No matter where you start, you’re building skills that will shape your journey. So embrace every opportunity—you never know how it will prepare you for what’s next! 💙

Social work is more than paperwork and referrals—it’s advocacy, empowerment, and showing up for people in ways that truly matter.

✨ March is Social Work Month✨

Sharing a little about my journey as a social worker. 💙

From graduating as a first-generation college student to serving my community, social work isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. I chose this field to give back the same support that uplifted me as a child, helping me overcome challenges and step into my purpose. I believe in the power of advocacy, change, and showing up as my most authentic self in every space I enter.

Every day, I have the opportunity to empower, uplift, and create real impact. That’s why I do this work. 💪🏾💛
