Another big win for breastfeeding moms--specifically white-collar working moms in Texas!!! A new law takes effect TODAY (September 1) that closes a loophole for working moms who breastfeed. The new law requires that employers allow for breaks for pumping moms, both hourly employees and those in salaried positions. Hooray for working moms and their breastfed babies!!!! Starting TODAY! The Texas legislature passed a law that takes effect today which allows women to pump breastmilk in public! It effectively closes a loophole in the current law that allowed women to breastfeed in public, but did not specify that pumping breast milk was also legal. That loophole is now closed.
