Orthok is one of my preferred choices for the treatment of myopia control in children
However, in some cases, patients are referred with already high amounts of myopia and astigmatism, which go beyond the parameters of most Orthok designs
Several years ago, I switched my design choice to custom software topography guided Orthok platforms.
Because of this, our clinic is able to tackle these complex cases.
This patient presented with 8.00 Diopters of Myopia and 2.00 Diopters of astigmatism!
We were able to fully correct not only the high amount of myopia but also the full astigmatism amount.
These custom Orthok designs can be so helpful for many patients in need
