Hospice વિશે ઘણી ગેરસમજમણ છે — ખાસ કરીને જ્યારે doctor કહે: “હવે આપણે વધુ કંઈ કરી શકતા નથી.” આ ભાષા મન માં એવું છાપ નાંખે છે કે hospice એટલે “ଉપાડું છોડી દેવું.”

એટલું જ નથી. Hospice એટલે એક આખી team તમારી ઘરે આવવી જે દરદી અને પરિવાર બન્ને ને support આપે. જો તમારી family આ આગળની દ઩ા દરવાજે છે, તો કોઈપણ નિર્ણય નહીં લેવાય ત્યાં સુધી team ને પૂછો.

One of the most damaging things families hear before hospice is offered is: “There’s nothing more we can do.” That phrasing makes hospice sound like the end of care — like medicine is stepping back. But hospice is the opposite. It brings in a full team of nurses, aides, social workers, and chaplains to support both the patient and the family.

The focus shifts to comfort and quality of life — but the level of support actually increases. If your family is at this stage, you’re allowed to ask questions before agreeing to anything. Understanding the plan is your right.
