In our next Sister Circle of The Body Remembers series, we’re exploring the Appease response — the part of the nervous system that seeks safety through harmony, compliance, or caretaking.

🎭Appease can look like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or becoming who others need us to be. Beneath that calm exterior often lives buried resentment, unspoken needs, and a self that’s learned love must be earned.

🎭Over time, appease forms an ADAPTIVE identity — the caretaker, the peacemaker, the overachiever — shaped not by authenticity, but by the nervous system’s need to stay safe, accepted, or connected. Who are you behind this performance you’ve had to master to stay safe?

Together, we’ll explore how appease shows up in the body, how resentment signals where we’ve self-abandoned, and how to reconnect with the parts of us that want to be seen as we are.

Winter is coming.

The slow, freezing stillness isn’t only happening outside. If you’ve found yourself experiencing more heaviness, procrastination, fatigue, and/or shutting down, your nervous system has likely entered into freeze mode. 🥶

Freeze mode can show up in isolated moments of stress, like suddenly not finding your words in a tense conversation or feeling stuck initiating a task.

For those who’ve experienced longer periods of stress, freeze can become more chronic, showing as ongoing low energy, fatigue, burnout, procrastination, and/or depression.

This Saturday, our Sister Circle will explore freeze mode together. We’ll discuss the effects, learn practical ways to regulate the nervous system and “un-thaw”. Just because the weather outside is fightful, it doesn’t mean our nervous systems have to be! ❄️🤍✨

🔥 In the new “The Body Remembers” series, we’re starting with fire: the fight response, anger, and what happens when protection turns into reaction.

🔥 Anger can show up as control, defensiveness, or the need to be right. But beneath it is often something deeper…a boundary crossed, a fear of being unseen, or the ego protecting a part of us that feels unsafe.

🔥 Together, we’ll look at how anger lives in the body, how ego shapes our reactions, and how we can work with that energy instead of letting it work against us.

Welcome to Day 20 of my 21 Day Nervous System Reset! When we live in our purpose, we can regulate our nervous systems. Getting back to my roots as a classroom teacher is one way I live out my purpose.This post is dedicated to all of the classroom teachers out there!

In the same way we explicitly teach algebra and essay writing, our kids also need to learn emotional intelligence, gaslighting and what it truly means to take accountability. Healing the future starts with our kids.
