What if the problem was never sun, salt, or fat… but what replaced them?

Between 1976 and 2026, obesity rates tripled — while we were faithfully following the rules.

Here are 7 lies that shaped a generation:

1. “Fat makes you fat.”
Every cell in your body is wrapped in fat. Your brain is mostly fat. Your hormones are built from fat. Yet we were told fat was the enemy and encouraged to replace it with low-fat foods loaded with sugar. As natural fats decreased, obesity and diabetes surged. The issue was never real food — it was the processed substitutes.

2. “Red meat causes cancer.”
Grass-fed steak was lumped in with ultra-processed meats and labeled dangerous. Humans consumed meat for thousands of years before the rise of modern metabolic disease. The greater issue isn’t whole food — it’s highly processed products and the dietary patterns that replaced traditional eating.

3. “Sunlight causes cancer.”
Sunlight supports immunity, hormone balance, mood, bone health, and Vitamin D production. Sensible sun exposure has benefits. Like many things in health, balance matters more than fear.

4. “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.”
For most of human history, people didn’t wake up to boxed cereal. They ate when food was available. The real concern isn’t skipping breakfast — it’s constant grazing and processed convenience foods that keep insulin elevated all day.

5. “Cholesterol is the enemy.”
Cholesterol is essential for hormones, brain function, and cell repair. Heart disease is far more complex than one number on a lab report. Inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, and lifestyle matter.

6. “Fluoride protects your teeth.”
Public health policy is complex, and like many topics, deserves thoughtful conversation and informed decisions.

7. “Salt causes high blood pressure.”
Salt alone isn’t the villain. Highly processed foods, excess sugar, low mineral intake, and metabolic dysfunction play a significant role in modern hypertension.

Chronic fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, and metabolic dysfunction don’t appear out of nowhere.

Often, they’re signals — not failures.

The solution isn’t panic.
It’s returning to what the body was designed to thrive on.

’Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung and the treats were in sight,
Sugar and carbs promised comfort tonight.

The cookies were stacked and the eggnog was sweet,
Old habits stood ready—familiar, complete.
But tucked in our thoughts was a question sincere:
Why do I feel worse at this time every year?

For years we were told, “It’s just part of getting old,”
Low energy, cravings, and blood sugar uncontrolled.
Eat what you want—it’s the holidays, right?
Deal with the fallout some other cold night.

But bodies were made with a rhythm so wise,
Not meant for the constant spike, crash, and disguise.
They crave gentle balance, support, and repair,
Not guilt, not extremes, not white-knuckle despair.

No diet was started this Christmas Eve night,
No promises made by the tree’s glowing light.
Just a simple decision, both hopeful and true:
I’ll start treating my body a little bit better—won’t you?

With fiber-first choices and timing that’s kind,
Supporting insulin—body and mind.
Small daily habits, not pressure or stress,
A system that helps you feel steady… not less.

So as Christmas arrives with joy warm and bright,
