Many area residents enjoy the Huntingdon fireworks display from the large parking lot at Penn Highlands Huntingdon, previously J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, each year. Concerned for patient access and safety, as well as the safety of those viewing the fireworks, hospital administration and security and safety staff will be restricting the number of vehicles and the time vehicles will be permitted to access the hospital property for fireworks viewing. Just an FYI for those who may be interested: HARRISBURG – Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Huntingdon/Centre/Mifflin) is hosting his annual Senior Expo on Wednesday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smithfield Fire Hall, 10 Firehouse Lane in Huntingdon.

“I look forward to this event each year,” said Irvin. “It gives me a chance to talk with area seniors and to hear directly from them about the state issues that are uppermost in their minds. There are always a lot of fun and helpful activities and folks enjoy the opportunity to meet up with friends and neighbors.”

During the expo, materials and information on health, financial matters, state programs, volunteer opportunities, and much more will be available. There will also be blood pressure screenings and numerous door prizes for those who attend. A free lunch will be provided courtesy of the event sponsors.
