Mindful Moments.

Today consider forgiveness. Forgiveness is not saying what occurred is okay. It is not forgetting. Forgiving releases one from the bo***ge and pain of unforgiveness.

***Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die!

For whom are you holding onto unforgiveness? A parent? Sibling? Spouse? Partner? Lover? Friend? Neighbor? Employer? Colleague? Teacher? Your child/ren? YOURSELF?

Today consider, "I love and value myself. I forgive myself for __________. I have learned from the experience and am a better person for it.

I forgive ___________ for the pain s/he brought in my life. I release myself and will no longer hold onto the cancerous unforgiveness. I am free!

Forgiving does not mean you must continue a relationship with this person. It may be a healthy choice to separate yourself from the relationship. You have the power to choose!

There is no time limit on forgiveness. If the person is no longer living, you can still forgive.

Love yourself enough to let go of unforgiveness. You will open yourself to truly experience the joy you deserve!

Mindful Moments.

You have the power to say when you are ready to release the pain of staying stuck! Is today the day you say "enough" and embrace the growth and change you deserve?

In my past, I had so much fear that I stayed in relationships, jobs, and even friendships that were slowly robbing me of confidence, self-esteem, and self-respect.

I admit, making changes and the growth I have experienced, at times, have been painful. But the change and growth have also been liberating and resulted in me becoming the best me I've ever been. I look in the mirror and love the person looking back at me.

What changes are you ready to embrace? What growth are you ready to experience?

What of love?

Do you love Me? Alice asked.

No, I don't love you! replied the White Rabbit.

Alice frowned and clasped her hands together as she did whenever she felt hurt.
See? replied the White Rabbit.

Now you're going to start asking yourself what makes you so imperfect and what did you do wrong so that I can't love you at least a little.

You know, that's why I can't love you.
You will not always be loved Alice, there will be days when others will be tired and bored with life, will have their heads in the clouds, and will hurt you.

Because people are like that, they somehow always end up hurting each other's feelings, whether through carelessness, misunderstanding, or conflicts with themselves.

If you don't love yourself, at least a little, if you don't create an armor of self-love and happiness around your heart, the feeble annoyances caused by others will become lethal and will destroy you.

The first time I saw you I made a pact with myself: "I will avoid loving you until you learn to love yourself."

How do you choose to start your day? What type of self-talk? They way you start your day sets the tone.

Suggestions for a successful start.

1. Before you get out of bed, smile. Take a slow breath in, pause, and out, pause - through your nose. Repeat.

2. Envision your day and picture three things you will accomplish. Feel the gratitude as though you have already completed those tasks. Breathe.

3. Make your bed.

4. Say, out loud, "I am happy and full of energy." Breathe as above and repeat your statement!

5. Follow this morning routine through next week and notice how your successful start impacts each day.

Our Story

Jacque Ruddy is a Southern California Native. She has called Huntington Beach home since 1991. Jacque is a sought-after keynote speaker and workshop leader for topics such as: Resiliency through Adversity - - - Breast Health & Early Detection of Breast Cancer - - - Harness Your Dreams with a Vision Board - - - Corporate Communication-Keys to Success - - - Mindfulness in the Workplace and at Home - - - Single Parents Guide to a College Education - - - How I Received over $225,000 in Scholarships & Grants for College - - - Garbage Bag Kid to USC Grad! Jacque has an incredible story of strength and resilience. In 2011, Jacque was raising her 20 month and six-year-old sons, on her own. To give her family a better future, she made the decision to pursue her dreams of a college education that would lead to her becoming a Clinical Therapist. During her first semester, on her son's second birthday, Jacque learned that she had an invasive breast cancer and would have to undergo a mastectomy. Two weeks after the mastectomy, she was back in college, full-time. She stayed in school through aggressive chemotherapy and many complications. Jacque earned an AA degree, with honors, and was offered a full-ride at the University of California, Irvine as a Psychology and Social Behavior major.

During her undergraduate studies at UCI, Jacque conducted research in the area of behaviors and breast cancer. Two days before her senior year at UCI was to begin, Jacque was diagnosed with Stage III recurrent breast cancer! The cancer had returned, more aggressive than ever. In spite of having multiple surgeries, three months of chemotherapy, and five weeks of daily radiation therapy, on June 10, 2016, Jacque became the first in her family to earn a Bachelor’s degree!

Against all odds, Jacque was granted admission to her dream school for her graduate studies: Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, University of Southern California School. On May 10, 2018, Jacque walked across the USC stage to receive her Master of Social Work, a dream come true!

Jacque works with individuals and groups to share strategies to get from reverse to neutral and from neutral to living your best live and finding the personal power to achieve the personal and professional growth you deserve. Jacque believes that most of what holds us back are the deep-rooted lies we have been told and have continued to tell ourselves about our value and ability.
