Today is the Huntington Chalk Walk Festival and our mural is all about capturing one of our top values “We Are Better Together”

✨Four Corners Feature: Cajo Creations✨

Carmin Johnston began her journey in the simplest way-a mom making practical items for her kids. What started with necessity quickly turned into creativity. With every new design, Carmin pushed herself further, and before long, friends and family were requesting all the things: purses, aprons, stuffed animals, memory pillows—you name it, she was challenged to create it.

For years, it was just a fun nighttime project for her family…a hobby…

But the story changed, after dedicating over 15 years to a corporate job she loved. her company sold out and suddenly everything turned upside down. Out of that shift, Cajo Creations was born. I think most of us can relate to that…pouring time, loyalty, and energy into a corporate job, only to feel left behind when directions change.

Her creative journey up until now has always been about making other people’s dreams come to life. Today, Cajo Creations is about making her dreams come alive. After building up other people businesses…it’s time to build a business of her own.

What makes Carmin so special is her heart and how she learned to create. Every single piece she makes feels personal-as if she’s stitching a custom bag for her granddaughter or a silly goose for her sister. That love and care is what makes her work shine.

Speaking of shining… today she just dropped a fan favorite: The Coffin Bag. Only 3 bags are available this season-so if you love it, don’t wait!

Saturday is going to be an AMAZING day to come to downtown. The annual Huntington Chalk Walk Festival is happening at the courthouse with karaoke, food, and music. Leave there inspired and come to The Elevated Collective for our first open studio class!

You will be able to enjoy a complimentary mocktail and make 2 rope planters for $28!

This is an easy and fun craft that will take you about 15-20 minutes and is the perfect keepsake for your day downtown.

This is an open studio so come anytime between 10am-4pm💛

What if your next adventure was waiting for you…wrapped in mystery, surprise, and a little bit of magic? That’s the heart of Novel Surprise Co. created by the ever-fun, heart-centered, and creative soul, Courtney Jean Bonbrake.

Courtney didn’t grow up as a book lover — in fact, reading in school felt more like a chore than an adventure. But during college, she picked up the Twilight series “just to try it” and found herself hooked. She stayed up until 4 a.m. devouring chapters, finishing the series in record time. That experience changed everything. Suddenly, books weren’t just words on a page — they were entire worlds, timeless escapes, and thrilling adventures she could revisit again and again.

Out of that love, Novel Surprise Co. was born in October 2024. Courtney wanted to capture that same spark of adventure and offer it to others in the form of a “blind date with a book.” Every Novel Surprise is carefully wrapped and paired with a curated aesthetic experience — cozy vibes, fun extras, and all the little details that make opening one feel like stepping into a new story.

At its core, Novel Surprise Co. is about surprise, adventure, and escape. Courtney believes we all reach for ways to step out of our own heads — whether it’s through music, movies, or scrolling — and books offer one of the most beautiful ways to do just that. With her love for crafting, aesthetics, and connection, Courtney has created the perfect blend of everything she adores.

What makes her creations so special is not just the mystery of the book you’ll unwrap, but the heart she pours into every package. Each one is designed to be a little doorway into another world — and maybe even into a story you’d never have picked for yourself.
