Fun fact or not so fun fact: For many years we believed that eating candy and sweets causes hyperactivity, especially in children. Remember your parents saying eating candy is making you hyper. While sugar is not good in large amounts and should be minimized, it’s actually the food dyes that are the culprit to hyperactivity in children. Many food dyes used in sweets and junk food are also contaminated with carcinogens. Carcinogens are cancer causing chemicals and toxins. Reducing sugar in our diets is necessary but look out for those food dyes as well.
