Happy Lion's Gate Portal! 🦁♌️

Each year from July 28th to August 12th, with a peak on ♾️August 8 (8/8)♾️, many cultures—both ancient and modern—observe a time known as the 🦁Lion’s Gate Portal🚪. While the phrase may sound poetic or mystical, it’s rooted in a real astronomical alignment: the 🌅rising of the star Sirius in conjunction with the 🌞 Sun in the zodiac sign of Leo. ♌️

💫 A Crossroads of Astronomy and Meaning

The Lion’s Gate Portal centers around the ☀️heliacal rising of Sirius ⭐️, when it becomes visible on the eastern horizon just before sunrise. Ancient civilizations—particularly in 🇪🇬Egypt—considered this event a powerful time of rebirth, as it coincided with the annual flooding of the Nile, which brought new life to the land. For the Egyptians, Sirius represented the goddess ✨️Isis✨️ and was associated with resurrection, abundance, and the spiritual soul.

🔆In Mayan and Incan cultures, solar and stellar alignments marked important ceremonial times linked to agricultural cycles and human transformation. The period surrounding early August has also been noted across the world as a time of 🍃seasonal transition🍂, where the bright summer sun begins to wane and hints of harvest preparation begin.

🤔 Why “Lion’s Gate”?

The term “Lion’s Gate” refers to the 🌞 Sun’s placement in Leo ♌️, a sign symbolically associated with the heart, courage, leadership, and personal power. Combine that with the brilliance of Sirius—a star twice as massive and 25 times more luminous than the Sun—and we’re looking at a potent symbolic gateway: a time to reflect, re-align, and re-engage with what gives our lives meaning.

💎 How to Work With This Energy (No Crystals Required 😉)

Even if you’re not into astrology or energy work, you can still 💫use this season intentionally💫. Think of it as a cosmic reset button—an invitation to:

🌠Reflect on what’s in your heart: What truly matters to you right now?

🌠Reclaim your voice: Where have you been quiet about something that matters to you?

🌠Clarify your direction: What are you ready to let go of, and what’s calling you forward?

🪞Reflection prompts-

🌠 What part of me is ready to be seen more fully?
🌠 What does courage look like in my life right now?
🌠 Spend time outside at sunrise or sunset** – connect with the rhythms of nature.
🌠 Create a quiet space** for inner listening: meditation, deep breathing, or simply sitting in silence.
🌠 Set an intention on 8/8 ⭐️Write down one powerful word or sentence that defines the energy you want to embody moving forward.

Whether you view it through the lens of astronomy, ancient wisdom, or personal growth, the 💫Lion’s Gate Portal💫 is a powerful metaphor and moment to pause, reset, and step forward with more intention. You don’t have to believe in energy shifts to believe in your own capacity for change.

Yesterday was a glimpse into the new paradigm.

We gathered with enthusiasm —for what this space is becoming—and with trust that our efforts, our message, and our hearts would be met by those who were meant to receive them.

And they were.

From the early morning hours, volunteers arrived with open hearts and willing hands-building the space, setting the vibe, and anchoring the energy. Every detail was infused with intention.
And when the people came… magic happened.

We connected deeply—with each other, with the land, and with something ancient that lives in all of us.
We listened, laughed, shared, and oh… did we dance.
What unfolded was more than just an event—it was a ceremony of reconnection. A celebration of what’s possible when we come together in authenticity, play, and purpose.
My heart could burst from the love I felt witnessing it all.

Overwhelmed with love, I thank each person who came out, participated, volunteered and worked the event.
For your effort. For your enthusiasm. For your trust in this uncharted territory.
We are co creating our reality, together.
The future is blindingly bright because of you.

Until we gather again-
With the highest L.O.V.E,
Leah

You Are Part of Something Ancient and New.

We are not just gathering to shop, to eat, to learn.
We are participating in a sacred return.

Our world is in the midst of a great transition. Old systems are breaking down—systems that were built on separation, scarcity, and survival. And while that collapse can feel chaotic, it is also an invitation. An invitation to remember. An invitation to rebuild—together.

At MVMNT, and in the heart of every experience we create, we are reawakening the memory of the village.
The soul knows this rhythm: to heal in community, to grow in shared purpose, to hold space for one another’s becoming.

This is not just wellness.
It is remembrance.
It is reclamation.
It is revolution through love.

Every time we show up, we are practicing a new world.
One that honors the wisdom of the body.
One that values wholeness over productivity.
One that recognizes each person as a vital thread in the fabric of community.

We are not here to escape the world.
We are here to become the world that’s coming.

This is how we evolve—together, in rhythm with ancient truths and future possibilities.

Your presence is not just welcome.
It is essential.

See you THIS Saturday, April 12th in celebration of what's possible when we choose community, wholeness, and co-creation of a more conscious world. ✌🏼🤍🌈

Motivation is a Byproduct, Not the Source

Starr Branch says, “Motivation is a weak force to rely upon.” And she’s right—waiting for motivation to strike is like waiting for the wind to move your sails when you have oars in your hands.

Action creates motivation. But it’s deeper than that. How we perceive action, our bodies, and our stories all influence our drive.

Joe Dispenza teaches that rewiring the brain through thought and emotion can shift our state of being. If we feel the energy of success before it happens, we program our mind to seek it. Deepak Chopra speaks of aligning with intention—tapping into the quantum field of possibilities to draw motivation from a deeper well than fleeting emotions.

So where does motivation truly come from?

•From MOVEMENT—the first step, no matter how small, generates momentum.

•From MINDSET SHIFTS—reframing struggles as growth transforms hesitation into curiosity.

•From EMBODIMENT—understanding your body not as an obstacle but as a vessel for energy and creation.

•From STORYTELLING—how you define yourself shapes your will to move forward.

Motivation isn’t something we find—it’s something we generate. Start before you're ready, shift your thoughts, and watch the energy flow. ✌🏼🤍

02/19/2025

In the quiet of winter, the bear surrenders. It curls into itself, trusting the wisdom of it's body, allowing its kidneys to slow, it's entire being to enter deep stillness. The bear’s kidneys cease filtering, its bladder stops producing urine, and in this pause, a great transformation takes place. It is in the deep silence of dormancy that life recalibrates, energy is stored, and renewal begins.

Winter, in Daoist wisdom, is the peak of yin—dark, still, restorative. The season calls for deep listening, for retreat, for surrendering into the rhythm of nature. And yet, we humans, bound by a society that glorifies constant production, often resist. We override the call for stillness, pushing against our own organic mechanisms, swimming upstream against the flow of life itself. It’s no wonder that this time of year often brings overwhelm. We are not meant to be in perpetual motion.

The kidneys, in Daoist understanding, hold our ancestral energy—our Jing. They are the wellspring of our vitality, governing our ability to move through fear.
Fear, like water, has many forms: a raging storm, a frozen lake, a bottomless sea. When we are disconnected from the wisdom of our kidneys, fear rules us; we contract, we resist, we stop trusting the flow. But when we, like the bear, embrace stillness, we allow fear to settle. We see the terrain clearly, we remember that we are the river, not separate from it.

Water, the element of the kidneys, teaches us about adaptability. It is the mist that rises, the rain that nourishes, the snow that blankets the earth in quiet renewal. Within us, water takes countless forms—the fluid of the womb that cradled us, the blood that carries our essence, the lymph that cleanses, the cerebral spinal fluid coursing through our nervous system. To honor our kidneys is to honor all the ways life flows within us and around us.

The bladder, the partner of the kidneys, holds and directs this flow. It is the reservoir, the vessel that allows us to store energy and release it when needed. Just as a river carves its path, our bladder teaches us discernment—when to hold, when to let go. A well-balanced bladder energy means we use our reserves wisely, rather than draining ourselves through fear-driven overexertion.

Our water's sense element is linked to the ears, inviting us to listen—to truly hear. In silence, we notice the delicate symphony of water: the soft trickle of a stream, the drip of melting snow, the gentle pulse of blood within. The kidneys ask us to embrace this deep listening, not just to the external world, but to our own inner knowing. For when we are still, we can hear the whispers of wisdom, guiding us toward clarity.

Science tells us that our kidneys filter our blood, removing waste and maintaining balance in our internal waters. But on a metaphysical level, they remind us how to live in flow. Just as they discern what to release and what to retain, we too must choose—what thoughts, emotions, and energies to keep, and which to let pass through.
Fear, when held too tightly, stagnates like a frozen pond. Yet fear, when acknowledged, melts and moves, carrying us forward. Our nervous system, divinely made, may react to threats that are no longer real, echoes of past experiences or inherited survival mechanisms. But we are not bound by these reactions. Through wisdom and discernment, through conscious alignment of thought, feeling, and action, we can soften the grip of unnecessary fear.
Here, the throat chakra enters—the bridge between our internal truth and external expression. When we suppress our fear, our voice trembles or disappears. But when we breathe into our kidneys, when we trust our flow, our voice becomes clear, resonant, empowered. We speak from a place of knowing, of wisdom drawn from the deep well of our being.

Like the bear, we must honor the stillness. Like water, we must trust the flow. Our kidneys, these sacred keepers of our vitality, remind us that when we align with nature—when we rest in winter, when we listen deeply, when we release fear—we return to harmony. And in that harmony, we find not just survival, but the power to thrive.

When we view our body as our teacher, we see it's functions as reflections of the fundamental workings of life all around us. It teaches us that we can exist in a world of change with greater ease; that resisting change only leads to struggle.
When we surrender to change, we gain the ability to navigate life with clarity and purpose. By learning to adapt, like water shifting between forms, we cultivate resilience and mastery over our experience. When we master fluidity, we become the architects of the river’s course.

So, let the waters run their course. Let the wild storms howl and the floods rise, let the tides swell and the rivers carve new paths through the earth. These forces are beyond our control, untamed and raw, reshaping the landscape in ways we may never predict. It is not our task to tame the tempest or hold back the sea—it is to tend to our own sacred waters. To become the source, deep and vast, sending out waves that ripple with intention.
When we honor our own power, we channel the collective flow and become the currents of change—unstoppable, cleansing, nourishing.
Not in resistance, not in fear, but in trust, knowing that our waves, vast and magnificent, will merge with others, weaving streams into rivers, rivers into oceans, carrying the world toward the peace and unity we dream of.

Liberation of the Unrequited Heart: A Valentine’s Revolution

Beyond the chocolates, roses, and romance, Valentine’s is an invitation—a call to turn inward and recognize the most profound love story of all: our love story with ourself.
It's the journey of individuation; of becoming wholly and authentically you. It is not separate from love—it is love. It is the deep, unwavering devotion to honoring your truth, trusting your process, and embracing every facet of who you are.

This path is not always gentle. It is a sacred dance between light and shadow, where we bravely meet the parts of ourselves that long to be seen, healed, and integrated. It requires courage to step into our fullness, to hold space for our wounds while simultaneously embracing our radiance. And in choosing this journey—in choosing ourselves—we become a beacon.

Our healing is never just our own. As we commit to our evolution, we inspire those around us to do the same. The more we embody our truth, the more we give others permission to explore theirs. In this way, love is not just something we give or receive—it is something we become. A living, breathing force that ripples outward, guiding others home to themselves.

And it is the heart that unites our inner and outer realities.
The heart is our ultimate communication organ—a bridge between person and person, consciousness to consciousness, the self and the world around us. It speaks in frequencies beyond words, transmitting the essence of who we are and receiving the truth of others. In living and loving from the heart, we become vessels of collective healing, radiating authenticity, love, and connection that inspire those around us to do the same.
The heart- our center of becoming.

To lead from the heart, to act from the heart, to speak from the heart—this is the essence of true love. It is the courage to be open, the wisdom to be present, and the power to create from a place of authenticity. When we align with this space, we do more than transform ourselves—we shift the world around us.

So this Valentine’s Day, I invite you to turn toward yourself with the same tenderness, admiration, and devotion that you so freely offer to others. Let it be a day of radical self-acceptance. A moment to celebrate the journey, the lessons, the becoming.
Because the greatest love story you will ever live is the one you cultivate within.

Happy Valentine’s to the most important love of your life—you.
