What: MyoPro Myoelectric Orthotic Demo Day
When: Tue Jan 20 from 8:00 - 4:00
Where: Therapy Achievements
Register: 256-509-4398

The MyoPro is a myoelectric upper-extremity orthosis — a powered brace that enables people with a weakened or paralyzed arm and hand to regain functional movement. It helps individuals with impairments from stroke, brachial-plexus injury, spinal-cord or nerve injury, or other neuromuscular/neurological conditions.

It works by reading faint nerve signals (EMG — electromyography) from the skin over muscles in the affected limb. These signals are detected by sensors; then small electric motors in the brace assist in moving the elbow, wrist, and/or hand — essentially amplifying your own muscle efforts to help you carry out movements you otherwise couldn’t.

Want to see if MyoPro will work for you? Call for a free appointment today!
