There's no better way to kick off Better Speech and Hearing Month than to welcome our new therapist, Ms. Haley! We're so excited to have her on board!

Hi everyone! My name is Haley Dombroski, and I am a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with nearly four years of pediatric experience supporting clients in their communication goals. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Georgia Southern University in 2021 and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Alabama A&M, with plans to graduate this December.

Outside of work, I enjoy baking, watching movies, and all things creative and crafty. My husband and I also have a sweet mini Goldendoodle named Rosie, who we are currently training to become a certified therapy dog.

While I’m originally from Northern Kentucky, I have spent most of my life in the Meridianville/Huntsville area.

I am thrilled to begin this new adventure with Rocket City Speech Therapy and look forward to serving this wonderful community!

Yesterday was World Autism Day… and I missed it. ✈️

But here’s the thing—celebrating autistic individuals, honoring neurodiversity, and supporting meaningful communication isn’t something that fits into one day on the calendar anyway.

It’s in the quiet moments.
It’s in the way we pause and listen.
It’s in how we honor all forms of communication—spoken, signed, gestured, or accessed through AAC.

It’s in shifting from “fixing” to understanding.
From awareness to acceptance.
From compliance to connection.
From expectation to modeling, supporting, and showing up.

To my autistic clients, families, and the incredible therapists and educators walking alongside them—you are doing important, meaningful work. Even on the days that don’t look like progress from the outside.

Communication looks different for every person. And that’s not something to change. It’s something to respect, support, and celebrate.

So yes… I missed the day.
But I’m still here for the message. 💛

We are looking for an SLP who values meaningful therapy, enjoys working closely with families, and wants to make a real impact in the lives of children.

I'm Melba, Speech Therapist, owner of Rocket City Speech Therapy, an AAC specialist, and most importantly, a mom of 2 amazing kids.

After being a pediatric speech-language pathologist for 20 years and working in every setting possible, I decided to open my own practice, dreaming of serving families in the New Market/ North Huntsville area. Rocket City Speech Therapy was launched 2 years ago and has grown so quickly!
