They say nursing is a calling, but for Sarah Eberle, it’s also where she found her strongest support system. ❤️
Last year was full of unimaginable highs and lows for Sarah, a 27-year-old registered nurse in our Cardiovascular ICU. After a routine X-ray led to a shocking diagnosis of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Sarah went from caring for patients to becoming one.
As she began chemotherapy, Sarah faced a struggle many patients know all too well: the heartbreaking loss of her hair. "It’s such a visible sign of disease and loss," she shared.
But her Huntsville Hospital work family wasn't about to let her face it alone. In secret, her colleagues raised $2,700 to surprise her with a custom, human-hair wig that looks just like her own. When Sarah went for her wig fitting in Georgia, she was met with a video of her coworkers cheering her on from the Rocket City. 🚀
“They gave me more than just a wig,” she says. “They gave me physical peace.”
Sarah is now finished with chemotherapy, and she kicked off 2026 by returning to the bedside for her first shift back at Huntsville Hospital!
Please join us in welcoming Sarah back and celebrating the incredible team that stands behind her. 🏥✨
